Worst to First - Which 2006 dud will turn it around to win their division

[PATRIOTSFANINPA]

IMO its a 100% chance that from the 2006/07 season final standings,one of those celler dwelling teams will not only do better but at least 1 of those 8 teams will win at least 10 games and probably more.

Last year it was Baltimore and New Orleans that turned it around and won thier respective divisions after sucking in 2005/06 season.

Who is more likely to do it and why?

Detroit
Tampa Bay
Arizona
Miami
Cleveland
Houston
Oakland


I say by far its going to be Arizona...finally overcoming the odds and being a top tier team in the NFC - I like the fact that they have finally hired a coach with good credentials in Weisenhunt who came from a highly respected football organization in Pittsburgh and did a great job there,I think he will do well as HC and I don't know of too many teams who have such good secondaries that they can slow down the awesome offensive powerhouse this team is sure to become now - With Boldin and Fitzgerald at WR and James in the backfield,its an arsenal that Leinart has in his second season and Leinart will be a pro bowl QB in his 2nd year as a result of the fortunate situation he has there out west. - Look for Arizona to surprise all as the Worst to First team and win the West with an 11-5 record.

Second pick would be Tampa Bay but only because that division is terrible.

The Oakland Raiders may have one of the best secondaries in football,at least on paper but unfortunately they are in the same division as Denver and San Diego
I see Cleveland as most likely to stay last again in their division.

You might also mention that Arizona has the easiest schedule in the league. That oughta help. (although every year we wait for them to turn the corner). I wouldn't go as far as to say they could be 11-5. The Saints (the #2 team in the nfc) were only 10-6.
I also think Tampa Bay might bouce back. They won their division two seasons ago and now have an easy schedule.

Campbell, Portis, Betts, Randal-El, Cooley, Samuels will drive a prolific Al Saunders' O; Greg Williams D will be much improved with Taylor back to normal, Landry, Fletcher, and Cornelius Griffin. I have them at 10-6, possibly 11-5 if they get lucky. Detroit has an outside shot because the rest of their division is so crappy.

Washington does indeed have a ton of talent on that roster and Snyder is overdue for a positive result from another active offseason.

I don't think Arizona's got enough juice to supercede the Seahawks just yet, but if I was a fan I would be encouraged that they appear finally to be heading in the right direction. They may challenge the niners for the second spot in that division.

Detroit's offense, which was pretty potent last year, could be a veritable fireworks show this year - i'm really looking forward to seeing Calvin Johnson. The Vikings and the Packers don't look like they've done enough to challenge and it seems pretty clear that there are some major problems in Chicago. Their QB situation is no clearer than last year; Briggs is disgruntled, and possibly holding out while Urlacher's agitation won't be helping anyone.

My money would be on Detroit of the 8 options presented, but I still don't think they'll overhaul Chicago.

In that spirit, I'll go with Washington. I think that Gibbs looks to be bringing some sanity to the organization. The NFC East was pretty well matched last year and, though the Cowboys and the Eagles should be good teams, they may yet cancel one another and let Washington in.

You might be right about Washington. For some reason I have a bit of a blind spot about the NFC East. I don't really like any of the teams in there and don't often watch the games.

I think this is probably a hangover from the 80s and 90s, where I was bored senseless by the Redskins/Cowboys/Giants. I make a slight exception for the Eagles as I always loved Randall Cunningham.

The redskins chances hinge too heavily on Campbell. They're also in a tough division. i have no confidence in them.
