Jets will be much improved this year

The Sporting News predicts 10-6 and Pro Football Weekly predicts 8-8 for the Jest.

Jets have no offensive line

Huh? They've been stocking it with 1st rounders. Mangold is already getting Pro Bowl buzz (though so are a lot of people). I think the Jets have been building in a sensible way, drafting defensive cogs and o-linemen high.

I also think this forum routinely underestimates Pennington (from the great college program that gave us Troy Brown and Randy Moss!).

If the Jets go 9-7 or 10-6, nobody should be surprised.

They are a better team this year then last, but a tougher schedule so their record should be similar.

E X A C T L Y.

I think they finish 10-6, if Pennington stays healthy all season. If not we'll find out if Clemens is worth anything.

If Pennington's arm can stay reattached to his body then the Jets will be ok.

I'm goint to agree with alot of people and say the jets will take a step back this year .I've seen it happen to many times before not to think it could happen th to the jets.
1.They have a tougher schedual.

2.They can't sneek up on anyone.

3.Just a posible let down from last year. They got on a roll and beleived in themselves, now they have to replicate that again and if they stumble in the begining it will be harder to do.

All the talk of "Mangina" and the "Jest" is pretty juvenile.

The Jets will be 10-6 and back in the playoffs. People who think they will regress or just go away need to take a reality check. They are not a fluke and not a pest that needs to be brushed aside. The Jets are a legitimate threat.

BelichickFan, the Jets only beat one opponent better than .500 last year, but the Patriots only beat two (one of which was the Jets). Interestingly enough, the 49ers beat three.

The Jets are a legitimate threat.

Any given sunday? Sure. Playoffs? You bet. Division title? Maybe. Super Bowl? Absolutely no chance in this world with Pennington at QB.

10-6 is about as high as they can go with Chad.

Check your facts before spouting off. The Jets, Packers and Bears all had winning seasons and the Patriots beat all three. What's more, the Titans, Jaguars and Bengals all finished at 8-8 and would have had winning seasons had the Pats not beaten them.

And without a doubt, Man-vagina and the Jest DEFINITELY are a pest that needs to be brushed aside, early and often. Man-vagina exhausted his copycat bag of tricks in that first-round playoff loss. It's 9-7 for Popgun Pennie and your green beans this year, bubba.

P.S. Speaking of acting like a juvenile: I had to laugh watching Man-vagina play-acting the role of tough-guy head coach last year, chewing out poor Schottenheimer Jr. on the sidelines when things went wrong. So transparently arrogant and immature, a veritable caricature of BB without the depth or substance.

I have no respect for Manweenie as a coach and less for the Jets as a team. I heard Vilma say that they have already caught the Pats, but he has always been an arrogant jerk.

Why don't you try this reality check you speak of. Look at recent surprise teams. Then look at what the surprise teams did the following season. Surprise teams typically regress the following year because everything went right for them, they had a weak schedule, they snuck up on opponents, they had few injuries, etc.

I agree. And I am one that thought that they would make the playoffs last year.

They are a better team this year then last, but a tougher schedule so their record should be similar.

I dont think anyone on the board (whos a Pats fan) thinks the Jets have a chance to achieve a better record then the Pats this year.

I think Jets are headed for 8-8 or 9-7, their upgrades were pretty small and their team was very healthy last year and they were able to sneak up on people.

The team I look at in the AFC east that will win 10-11 games is Miami, not saying they will compete with the Pats but that is a top 10 D and an offense that added Cam Cameron, Trent Green (Green isnt great but hes an upgrade over their other QBs easy) and their schedule is VERY favorable because they came in last place.

I think the Jets are a 7-9 win team. What will be interesting (aka funny as hell) is if they do fall to 7 win or less is how quickly their fans will go from Man-genius to Man-hunt.

Actually, the Packers finished 8-8. Everything I said was factually correct. It is you who need to check your facts before spouting off.

And if the Patriots hadn't beaten them they wouldn't count as quality wins because New England WOULD NOT HAVE BEAT THEM (they would be quality losses). No matter which way you sell it New England only had two quality wins last year, which is better than the Jets but not by a whole lot.

Furthermore, you still sound like an eight year old when you combine Mangini's name with the word vagina. Give my regards to recess.

Let me see if I am hearing you correctly. TomBrady's Goat: "The Jets can't be good in 2007 because they were a surprise team in 2006."

That's like saying the Chicago Bears would be bad in 2006 because they surprisingly won 11 games in 2005. In point of fact, they sustained their success as good teams do. You need to base your predictions on something a little less superficial than hype or previous seasons expectations.

Tell me other then mangold who is good?

Ever heard of D'Brickashaw Ferguson? Pete Kendall?

You said the Jets have "no offensive line" and you are wrong. While not spectacular, it is solid and dependable. Pennington will get protection from them.

You mean the same Kendall who is publically bashing the jets? Chances are he wont even be a jet when the season starts. D Brick is showing signs of being a total bust. Mangold is the only Above average player on that line.

I got some bad info looking to confirm the Pack's record, so you're right, bully for you: http://www.onlineseats.com/nfl-tickets/green-bay-packers/index.asp
2006 Regular Season Record 9-7

OK, add yet another team that finished at .500 because New England beat them. I wonder how many other teams knocked that many opponents down to 8-8 last year ... And by the way, I don't care at all if it seems juvenile to you that I refer to your penguin boy as Man-vagina. He still does a lot of phony-baloney "tough guy" play acting on the sidelines; he's full of himself and insecure. What's more, he won't need to buy a Halloween costume this year. All he has to do is wear his Jest polo shirt and go as a big green apple!
