NFLN giving Vrabes some love.

Troy Brown #5 All-time 2-way player

NFLN giving accolades for Troy.

and who were the top few...Chuck Bednarik???

1 Sammy Baugh
2 Paul Hornung
3 Deion Sanders
4 Chuck Bednarik
5 Troy Brown
6 Kordell Stewart
7 Mike Vrabel
8 Brian Mitchell
9 George Blanda
10 Tom Matte

Sure this wasn't the "versatile" players show? That's different than 2-way, not sure if they have such a show.

I caught the first few,was happy to see Vrabel there, had to go so I missed the T.Brown segment,sadly...BTW,anyone think Troy has a shot at the HOF,not because of gaudy stats but due to the versatility he brings?Just wondering...

Patriots HOF, Yes.
NFL HOF probably not.
Not enough pro bowls, I guess.

Actually, you are correct.
My error.

I disagree with Sanders being on the list because his versatility was outside football. He pretty much just played corner in the NFL and I believe he was tried at reciever but not on aregular basis.
If you're going to put his name on there then why not Bo Jackson.
BTW, thanks for the list.

Where's John Amaechi?

...buh-doom-doom-shhhh

Oops, didn't see the NFL portion in the title!

saw this program and they mention thomas when they talked about vrabel but as thomas did not play offence he was not on the list.

Anyone else unsurprised by the fact that the only active players on this list are Patriots? :rocker:

The segment they did on Troy was great. Watching him get torched in practice, then come into the game- the STL players mocking him, and he just makes big plays and finishes the year with 3 picks. It was cool that they included the strip at SD, too. "When the Patriots need a play, Troy Brown delivers." Yup.

Kordell Stewart? Excuse me?

Kordell - sorry wrong team

Kordell Stewart? Excuse me?

Kordell's versatility to be further profiled on the LOGO channel. Not that there's anything wrong with that. LOL

No way should Sanders be third...that is truly hype..when you are talking about 2 way football..Bednarik played center and linebacker..while Sanders ran back kicks and was a cornerback..typical hype... I have NO problems with Baugh and Hornung... Baugh led the lead as a QB, a punter and led the league once in interceptions. Pretty incredible!!

I think the same list should have been arranged:

1 Sammy Baugh
2 Paul Hornung
3 Chuck Bednarik
4 Troy Brown
5 George Blanda
6 Mike Vrabel
7 Kordell Stewart
8 Brian Mitchell
9 Tom Matte
10 Deion Sanders

How about 3-way players? Could Troy be #1 here?

Actually, I'm surprised to see Deion Sanders ranked so low, as he was undoubtedly more talented than Troy Brown, since he was a natural defensive back, and a plainly talented receiver. I'm guessing this was because Troy has seen regular duty at defensive back whereas it was more of a novelty when Deion Sanders played 2-way.

Doesn't Troy Brown hold the record for most time cut by the New England Patriots only to be later resigned? (Rhetorical question only.)

I doubt that Troy Brown would receive even 1 vote for the NFL Hall of Fame nor should he. He's been my favorite Patriot player (since Curtis Martin left), but he was nowhere close to a Hall of Fame career.

I agree with you that Sanders should not be on the list. He was a stiff at wide receiver. Maybe because he is a commentator on NFLN they put him on rather then hear him whine.
