There is no way Elsay isn't in the top 5. I'd consider him #3 after Montana and Rice.

OK, I'll admit that I was probably too much of a Homer on this one and that Elway should go ahead of TB, but with Sweetness, Montana and Rice still not on the list, I don't get him in the top three. Also, LT and Reggie White had a huge impact on the other side of the ball and one or both of of them should be in the top five IMO.

Sanders is on the list at #16. I'm not sure how you could not include Montana, Payton, Rice, L.Taylor, R.White, Elway and E.Smith on the list. That leaves one spot open. How about Ronnie Lott?

Well USA Today seems to agree with you. They have Lott at No. 8. Good call.

Is it possible that one of the top 7 yet to be named is John Hannah?

Doubtful. It would require leaving off one of Elway, Montana, Payton, Emmitt, Rice, Taylor, and White. I can't see any way they don't have all those 7 guys in the top 25.

Since there is likely to be a wild card pick in here which would take a lucky guess to name, I will try again. I thought that Hannah was a logical choice but here is another who had a major impact on 3 Super Bowls and at least one other playoff game-Vinitraitor. Just a guess but who knows.

Lott, LT and Reggie White were guys that through sheer force of will just took over games. It always amazed me that nobody seemed to be able to gameplan to prevent them from making big plays. Can't say the same for Ray-Ray and Primetime.

There are likely people who won't understand how Lott (a safety for most of his career) could be #8...but he really was amazing during the 9er's championship run.

I didn't see the list for 9-25 .......any link provided?

As for Payton, my all-time favorite, but most of his career was pre-1982.

What about Barry Sanders? The MOST exciting player since 1982!

Was Eric ****erson in the top 25?

I really don't think there is going to be a wild card pick. With 7 spots left for there to be a wild card it means one of Montana, Elway, Payton, Emmitt, Rice, White, and LT aren't in the top 25.

That is the greatest QB ever, another of the top QBs ever, the current and former all time rushing leader, the best WR ever, and 2 of the very best defensive players the game has ever seen. How can you leave out any of those guys on the top 25 list of the last 25 years?

I would say Hannah's a guy you can make a good case belongs. I would originally have said his career mostly predated this list's timeframe and that is why he isn't on it but then I see Bradshaw's name on it.
