This guy has interested me ever since he left Pittsburgh. Here is a big (6'1'' 248) inside LB in the Steelers's 3-4. He wins Defensive Rookie of the Year and looks like the next great LB in the league. He goes to Kansas City and falls flat on his face. He has basically spent 3 years in limbo. Now that KC has picked up Harris and Edwards he is buried on the depth chart. I wonder if this is a case of a kid being a classic flash-in-the-pan or a classic case of Wrong-System-For-Player.

Does anyone have any insight into this player and is he worth potentially trading for given our lack of depth at LB?

i say flash in the pan..he was one of four LBers during his years with Pitt and the other guys with him were really good making him look better than he was..i do think he was better suited for pitt than kc too.

Very interesting proposal I've always liked Bell the guy was a monster his rookie year and then nagging injuries hampered his play.
He got a big pay day in kc and is it that he's content and no room for improvement or no fire in his belly? Has his skills diminished or is he in the wrong system with the wrong coaching staff?
I'd love to use kazcur or caldwell to find out.
Although I think Chaun thompson is a much better fit but would be optimistic about either one wearing a flying elvis logo.

maybe he just didnt fit the cover 2 and didnt have enough talent around the D.

I was watching that awesome postseason game between the Browns and Steelers on the NFL N the other day and Bell seemed to have played pretty good.

I would like it if we brought him in.....

Lets trade Caldwell for him...
At this point i would be interested in trading Caldwell for a packet of McDonalds BBQ Sauce and a couple stale fries.

use and abuse?

KC- Where good defensive players go to die.

Bell has had knee problems since his Pittsburgh days. His knees were shaky when KC signed him.

The constant avalanche of derision in Caldwell's direction continues to mystify me. What the Hell did he do to deserve this? He wasn't amazing or anything, but the guy basically saved our WR corps more than anyone else in 2006.

who else would u trade from our roster?

our WRs are fine with or without Caldwell

its him/Washington/Gaffney on the line

Well, KC is in need of wide receivers...

But trying to get a trade done with Carl Peterson is just asking for trouble.

I agree with you.

Anyone who put his body on the line for his team the way that Reche did against Cincinnati and who made a play to save our season (San Diego) doesn't deserve that kind of abuse, whatever you think of the AFCG.

I had hoped that people would have learned their lesson about denigrating Patriots players this off-season (see sticky threads 2 and 3 above ...)

A second rounder for Trent Green? LMAO.

I think Bell is washed up. He had two monster years, and then fell off the map. In 2004, Bell is mostly injured as the Pittsburgh D led them to a 15-1 record.

Keegs is just showing his total LACK of intelligence with his comments about Caldwell. But, that is Keegs for you.

I am still on the no-KC defensive players bandwagon after the whole Biesel and Warfield disasters

Caldwell is definetly a keeper I don't know why anyone would want to get rid of him. At worst he is the best 4,5, or 6 wide reciever on any NFL team this year hands down. Heck he was our number 1 last year. Why trade him away, plus he has the most experiance with TB as of right now... Saying Troy does not come back... you go 4-5 wide out which you will see at some point or another.... That is one heck of a lineup of WR for Brady to slice defenses with

yeah but both of those guys were Chiefs forever until they joined us

Bell was once a Steeler

plus the Cover 2 that chiefs run is much different than our 3-4.

Beisel and Warfield were good in the Cover 2 i guess..Bell isnt. Bell was good in the 3-4..Beisel and Warfield werent.
