... they also recommend sugarless gum to those who chew gum.

Not that any of that means anything... most Pats fans know that having the best team on paper means only that - and that our guys need to perform to expectations to make the predictions a reality.

Still its nice to see that the majority of NFL rags recognize that a team that was 1 play away from going to - and likely winning - the Super Bowl has made some significant upgrades that, IMO give it the team the potential to dominate the league like few teams ever have.

Man, that has got to piss off Rodney. How the heck is he going to play the "no respect" card now? :D

There's enough disrespect coming from Charger land to keep Rodney going all year. Just the way we like him. :)

Easy - One out of Five picked someone else; HOW DARE THEY ? :rocker:

Now we know how the Dentyne gum people feel.

Bandwagoners...

It is obvious it was not 5 out of 5, ergo no respect..

WE ARE DOOOOOOOMMMEEEDDD!!!!!

makes me nervous. almost like the media morons are salivating to write a "best team on paper" or "dan snyder" story about the pats in December.

5 out 5 NEP perfer winning in febuary to being picked by 4 out 5 of preview mags before the season.

While it is fun for us fans to read this stuff, the players dont care and they will find ways they are disrepected despite what people write....the best bulitan board material comes from the opposing players and history shows there are dumb players out there who will say stupid things.

2 months to go and the bullets start flying and we can get this thing going for real and it cant come soon enough.

Don't bet Your House

It's hard to resist wallowing in the adoration showered on our team.
But it is unwelcome, nonetheless.
The Patriots have always won by having no more than their fair share of good players
... plus an awful lot of smarts and gumption.
That's a fetching formula
that i prefer to having a virtual all-star roster.

For those who add spice to their Sundays by laying a little action ...
this will be a tough year.
With the Pats universal favorites, the oddsmakers will have to open their spreads wide
just to draw money to most of the opponents.
While we'll win many a game outright ...
it'll be much harder to cover those inflated spreads.

Not quite - this team is pretty much a low risk, high reward scenario.

Does Randy Moss have a multiple year contract with tens of millions of dollars guaranteed? Does Donte Stallworth?

Are we perceived to have over paid for Adalius Thomas?

Has this team mortgaged its future and traded away future draft picks to "win now" at all costs?

If the answer to the above questions and others is "no" then I don't think there'd be any possible comparison with the Redskins.

There's no doubt expectations are high - but heck, we expect a SB contender EVERY year. Last year was a HUGE disappointment even with the injuries and lack of WRs - and that's a season where we really only missed a likely SB win by one play.

So my expectations this season aren't any higher than they are every season.

It will be interesting to see those apologists for our WRs last season who asserted that our WRs needed half a season to get adjusted to Brady - I doubt we'll see the same sort of patience expressed on behalf of Caldwell and Gabriel applied to Moss and Stallworth - but that's ok by me because I thought that was just a lame excuse in the first place.

So this IS a different season from last to be sure - but the expectation for another SB ring hasn't changed a bit.

I love all the pats vs saints super bowl talk, i would buy everthing with the two teams on it!

I agree with you 100% on the facts. But the assumption that the media nitwits will be as rational in their "spin" is not necessarily the case.
