I can't stand watching this guy pitch. He looks like he should take some hits of speed before the game. He takes like 5 minutes in between pitches, and his wind up is in like slow motion. Even from the stretch he takes forever. Thats why hitters have a hard time hitting him because there about to fall asleep in between pitches. He also throws 50 times over to first base a game, and half of them are with people on base who don't even steal. Dice K could be in a nothing, nothing game and it will still take 4 hours for the game to end. Maybe over in Japan sleep walking is common.

He throws too many balls. At first I assumed it was the different strike zones, but now I've come to realize that he's got a rubber arm and that it must be against the Samurai code to to throw the ball within a foot of the strike zone on an 0-2 count.

Great point...I'd rather have a guy that works fast, doesn't throw to first, gives up 8 runs a game, burns out our bullpen, and gives us no chance to win!

As far as throwing over goes; he threw over 3 times in a row, next pitch the guy stole and tek tossed it into center field. You may not like watching him pitch, (and you don't have to watch the game) but the guy just came to the states and is getting better all the time...plus we have a chance to win just about every game he pitches.

I have certain beefs which I'd like to share, also:

JD Drew lacks fire.
Pedroia needs a more compact swing.
Papi is Ichiro.
Manny is...well, being Manny.
Youks is no longer the Greek god of walks (stop hitting doubles!)
Lowell sacrificed 5 errors for 10 homers this season (don't you know you were essentially the 'player to be named later' with Beckett?)
Tek needs to smile more.
Coco needs to stop moving his fingers so much in his batting stance.
Lugo needs to hit a baseball.

There, I said it. We are an imperfect team...but hey, none of this is as serious as DiceK being too slow.

A far more serious problem than Dice-K taking an extra 5 seconds before pitches is Julio Lugo's major problem where he grabs his crotch every half minute.

If we're talkin' serious problems here, I'd like to mention the price of beer at Fenway:mad:

I though this was more of a horsing around type thread:confused:

Now that you mention it... Youkilis' beard kinda bothers me because it looks all scraggly. He should shave it. That will definitely lead the Red Sox starting a 10 game winning streak. Yup, shave the face Youk!!

When he first grew the beard in i honestly didn't recocgnize him. Its kind of funny with his batting stands and beard he looks like a cave man waiting to smash something.

Dice K can bore me all he wants to, just keep winning and keep eating up the innings, this guy will only get better.

Yeah he will, its just unfortunate he don't get the run support he needs to win sometimes. He pitched well last time out and got the no decision in a 2-1 loss.

Yep i gave in and I'm watching Dice K pitch. Now that I'm watching him again against Tampa Bay, i hate him even more. This guy really does suck. Dice K sucks. He has got to be the worst pitcher in history to have 7 strike outs in a game. If a manager was smart he would tell all his players to stand there with therir bat on their shoulder and not swing. He has no control whatsoever and batters swing at his crap. The Jiro-ball what a joke. He sucks so bad. He really does. I can't wait for him to keep those pitches high against a good team and see him get slapped around. Better yet a player hit a line drive right into his skull and knock his ass out.

I was at the game tonight and Dice K was awesome. If they kept him in for the last inning he would have got the shut out. He had a lot of strikes and he made two great snags as the ball was hit right at him. True its only the D-Rays and they suck but it was nice to see him do a good job.

I hope you joking....either that or your a yanks fan that wishes you signed him. Everyone thought it would take him all year to adjust to MLB, he's going to be sick next year with a year of experience behind him.

Imagine him and Beckett as your 1 & 2 or your 2 & 1... unbelievable.

If you're joking, good one.

If you're serious, up your meds.

The only thing that i'll give you about Dice K is that he is hard to predict. Its hard for batters to know whats coming. Seriously if he pitched the way he did against Tampa against a real good team, I'm telling you he would of got rocked. Theres a difference in throwing pitches for balls when being ahead in the count and just being wild, and missing your target(wherever the ball is intented to hit) He hit a batter, he threw like ten pitches three feet out of the strike zone, and left a lot of pitches in batters power zone(up in the strike zone). This is Dice K's first season and he is new to a lot of hitters, so i think its a matter of time before batters catch on. I think this year if any will be his best. Hats off to him for getting wins, but i just don't like him. I don't hate teams, but I hate individual players on teams. I have no hatred for the Sox, it's just Dice K. I'm Not a Yanks fan, trust that.

Good pitchers use the whole strike zone. Just because he leaves some up doesn't mean that it's not intentional, especially when he has that kind of gas + control + repertoire. Same for the unhittable way-off-the-plate stuff...batters swing at those pitches for a reason.

Here are four stats:

1) He's fourth in the majors in K's.
2) He has better than a 3:1 K:BB ratio.
3) In his last six starts, he has an ERA of 1.29, and has dropped his overall ERA by about the same.
4) He's averaging just under 7 innings per start. No need to discuss the benefits to the bullpen, I hope.

Over the last month and a half, he's probably been the best pitcher in baseball. He's getting better and better, and this at the time when batters should have "figured him out" by now. We're at the freakin' All-Star break.

Hate him all you want, but it's entirely irrational.

All that matters are wins...he's been the best (or one of the best) pitchers in baseball the last month, so hate him or not he produces. Did you like the way Clement pitched?
