Listening to PFW today....there is a story about Paul Perillo's brother in laws friend....who ran into Tom Brady somewhere (I guess they are friends). He said Tom was real confident in this years team. The source was even saying "what about this.....or how can you be so sure" and Tom was very confident.

I wish I knew how that whole conversation went.

It's from Paul Perillo not Mike Felger.

Hearing that, I will now book my flights to Arizona. Thanks for the reliable info.

Did you all see the look on Bruschi and Vrabel's faces after the Colts game?

That and the possibility that Harrison is near retirement tells me that these Patriots are going to be getting down to some serious business.

Tedy Bruschi looks down at his hand every day, and he notices he needs one more ring to make a brass kncukle.

There's no brass on that hand. That'd be a white gold knuckle.
;)

Any different than the faces I saw after the Broncos game last year?

yeah actually. i didnt see a lot of tears Colts game..saw a lot during Broncos.

Any different than the faces I saw after the Broncos game last year?

YES!! They were very different.

The Broncos beat them. Against the Colts, they melted down. Tedy knows when he's beaten. He doesn't need to get pissed. Against the Colts, they were pissed off.

I didn't see the faces because my TV was off - but I know they looked and felt different because I did. There is NO comparison.

As for the subject of this thread, it's not exactly a direct source ;) but I like Perillo and find him to be one of the more level headed Patriots writers.

And this is a story because? Even if he is confident, would he say, "No, I think we suck and I think we'll miss the playoffs," to some guy's brother in law's friend if he wasn't?

This post is meaningless - EVERY QB in the league,Even Jon freakin Kitna is VERY confident in what his team will do this year.

Thats what they get paid for-to be able to have the positiveness to win in this league.

Did you ever hear a QB in the month of June go "Man,my team sucks,we will be lucky to win 2 games this year and one of them would have to be if the opponent has so many injuries that they have to put the cheerleaders in" - Thats about as much sense as saying anyone is confident in June.

See me in late January and I will show you a confident QB who actually has backing behind it,hopefully Brady is one of the 4 teams QBs left at that time.

If you are not confident in your team then you should not be QB of your team... with that being said Paul Perillo is a level headed Pats Employee who is more intelligent and level headed than most reporters.

I know a QB that isn't confident sometimes and his name is Rex Grossman.

Glad to hear it. You could tell last offseason and the early part of the '06 season were pretty tough on Tom..

Well that's true... unless you're QB for the Lions. ;)

We need no better reminder than a thread like this that we are in the dead zone between Minicamp, OTA's and Training Camp. Somebody says that the QB's very confident? Stop the Presses!

I'm glad Kyle is confident. I'd hate to see one of our new acquisitions lack confidence in his new team.:D

I'll make sure from here on out....I only post info based on what
Tom Brady says to me directly.

Jezz....I am willing to bet half of you didn't even listen to the link. I havn't missed a PFW webcast for the last 4 years....and Paul Perillo doesn't just throw that stuff around on a regular basis. If you did listen, and read between the lines....you come away with the impression Tom was most likely referring to the new offensive fire power when the question was asked from the friend.

I'm sure even just from mini camp that Tom could see the potential this offense is going to have. We have been harping on this receiver thing for a year now....don't you think Tom knows as well as anyone it was a big weakness in there game last year.
