i love the NFL, best sport in the world imho

i do not dislike the NHL

i do not follows at all NBA and MLB and i do not like them either

what about you and overall in US ?

is it the NFL the n.1 sport ?

NFL is by far my favorite. Second is MLB, but after watching most Sox games a year I realized that 162 games at 3 hours a piece was an enormous waste of my time.

The rest...uninterested.

NFL
.
big drop
.
MLB
.
smaller drop
.
NBA
.
.
there are other sports ?

Isn't this sort of like asking a bunch of Jets fans who they like better:

Tom Brady
JP Losman
Trent Green
Chad Pennington

I mean... wouldn't the answer pretty much always be C. Pennington there?

As a fellow who is on a NFL team messageboard in June, I'm going to have to say that the NFL is my fave... followed by NONE.

I think if we asked the question on a general site (like SI or ESPN), then MLB would still win out... just my op. though.

anyway overall in US i think that NFL is considered sport n.1 like soccer is surely sport n.1 in Europe (bad for us...)

NFL then NHL (I live in Québec) then MLB (boring) then NBA (borrrrring)

because people are associating the organizations (MLB, NFL) with the sport (baseball, football) I feel the need to make this overly complicated.

My favorite sports to play are:

baseball
basketball
tennis
football

My favorite sports to watch:

football
baseball
tennis
basketball

My favorite leagues are:

NFL
NBA
...
MLB

My favorite teams are:

Red Sox
Patriots
Celtics

Maybe it doesn't make a ton of sense, but it does to me. For instance, baseball and the Red Sox are my first love, but I despise MLB/MLBPA. I don't overly enjoy playing football, but it is easily the best sport to watch. I love playing basketball, but until they do something about the final 2 minutes of a close game taking 30 minutes I can't watch it.

What makes me sad is just how dysfunctional MLB is. They're really trying to run the game into the ground. Outside the big baseball cities it is more and more becoming a sport where successful teams sell tickets and bad teams don't. They're replacing loyal fans who love the game with bandwagon fans who enjoy rooting for winning teams. Oh yeah, that's healthy.

If I was a Pirates or Royals fan, looking at incompetent ownership and a system which does little to help crappy teams and nothing to weed out awful ownership I'd probably have moved on from baseball already.

NFL and MLB are tied

(I'd put NCAA football and hockey next)

The NHL comes next, but I really don't care about it.

If the NBA folded tomorrow, I wouldn't care one bit.

I go by months.

September-October: MLB then NFL.. I know I know. Blasphemy right? Well if the Marlins or Sox are in the playoffs then I gotta watch.

October - Feb: NFL easy.

I have no idea when basketball season starts or ends and I live in Miami. Something about being '06 Champs or something.. dunno.

Hockey? We got ice down here in S. Florida? Say what?

Hockey used to be my love and passion. I still play, but I don't follow the NHL near what I used to. Players such as Roenick saw to that. Football has become my sport of passion, though I have followed the Patriots since 1982.

The Red Sox were 2nd when I was younger, but they are 3rd. I don't really follow basketball and haven't since Reggie Lewis died. Well, I haven't other than laughing every time I see one of the thugs in the news.

NFL is head and shoulders #1
MLB is #2 for the spring/summer but once fall rolls around, NCAA football takes over #2.
NCAA Basketball is 1-A from November-early Feb and then once the super bowl is over, it is clear #1.

I was not aware there was any other sport besides the NFL? ;)

NFL by far, then i also like hockey a lot. I follow the red sox, but it is not nearly as exciting as the other two sports. Then there is the NBA, which could be good if they called traveling, lol. But it just gets so repetitive and isn't any fun to watch. You can do good by having one good player in basketball.

Lets just say you won't find me on any Red Sox, Celtics, or Bruins messageboards.

Oh, they're sports! Man, I had no idea what all those acronyms represented.
:snob:
AAH,for years I also didn't know what thoses meant. There is only ONE sport, and ONE SEASON. The rest is just waiting for that season to begin,to me it begins in July. And July's almost here!!! :rocker:

It doesn't begin until the end of July.

:(

:ditto:

That is unless Larry Bird has a son who plays for the Celtics and plays in the same fashion as he played in Boston,Then and only then would I actually care about the Celts again.

I'd have to say the NFL is #1 with me far and away. On Sunday's, I love watching every game on TV, will watch as much football as possible.

Although I am a fan of the Red Sox, I could care less about the rest of MLB, the only time I watch non Red Sox games is when the Yankees are on so I can see them lose, which they do very well lately.

Regarding the NHL, I could care less, the sport is so watered down it's pathetic. As far as the NBA, if it went away tomorrow I could care less, the NBA is beyond pathetic.....................
