Vinatieri's 48yd FG to win SB36 without a doubt.
Then there was the game itself. Pats playing major bend-but-don't-break defense and a field position game on offense early on, looking like it was only a matter of time before things started breaking down and the Rams slowly took hold of the game. Then came Ty Law's pick. Then came the turnover before the half and the ensuing TD. Wow, it's 14-3 at the half! Then came another pick and a 17-3 lead after 3. Holy poop the Pats might pull this one out! Then the gas ran out in the 4th quarter and here came the Rams. First, Willie's hold negated Tebucky's game-clinching 24-3 TD return and the Rams quickly capitalize and make it 17-10. Then after some more bend-but-don't-break, an awful punt sets up the Rams 55 yards away from tying the game with two minutes to go. Tebucky and Shaw forget how to tackle and Prohel ties the game with 1:30 to go as my stomach starts to sour. Then some Brady magic (with big assists from JR Redmond and Troy Brown) sets up Adam V. Visions of Scott Norwood are going through my mind, but then the kick is so true, right down the middle and would have been good from 65yds that the moment it was in the air I was ecstatic. What a beautiful championship winning kick!

Regards,
Chris

At the time I 1st cursed TBKY's mother for having him, but then I looked at the clock and said "Well at least we have time to try for a FG." I was terrified of OT because had the Rams won the flip I (and probably BB as well) knew they'd drive down and score on our spent D.

"Choosing to be introduced as a TEAM...."

Though EVERY other SB team since has done this, when the Pats came out in unison before SB36 it was remarkable. I thought to myself, "we are going to WIN this game!"

What he said. :rocker:

My all time favorite moment, WBCN, 2/3/02:

"The kick is up, it's on it's way. . . . and . . . .
IT'S GOOD! IT'S GOOD! IT'S GOOD! AND THE PATRIOTS ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS! THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!"
You don't have the call quite right....

"And it is... GOOD! IT'S GOOD! IT'S GOOD! ADAM VINATIERI BOOMS A 48 YARD FIELD GOAL AND THE GAME IS OVER. AND THE PATRIOTS ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!! THE PATRIOTS... ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!!! THE BEST TEAM IN THER NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE! OH, BABY!!!"

I'm sure the obligatory Vinatieri kicks will be everyone's answer, but for me, my favorite moment was when Chris Slade forced that fumble to seal the 1996 AFC Title game in Foxboro. Loudest I ever heard that Foxboro crowd.

Definitely a harbinger of things to come for us Pats fans.

Bryan Cox waiving Peyton Manning to the opposite sidelines during a 4th down measurment in which the colts came up short. basically telling him to go cry on the other sideline.

The birth of the peyton manning face inmy memory.

My favorite part of that call is hearing Gino in the background just going "Haaaaaaaaaaay! Yayyyyy!" Not even trying to remain composed and say anything, just caught up in the moment, cheering the win. The whole thing still gives me chills.

Given where AV plays now, I prefer the other version, even if its less accurate... :)

One of my favorite regular season moments was when we got whipped by the Bills in the first game of 2003 31-0, and then in the last game of the season we whipped them 31-0. Sweet revenge.

I can't say it's my favorite, but this same thing happens on their call of the Brady-Brown OT TD in Miami.

I get the warm fuzzies whenever I hear that call.

I thought we had lost that game twice but Mare ended up missing one field goal and Seymour ended up blocking the other.

It's just as well that Mare missed the OT one, considering that Chambers stepped OOB while running his route and he actually landed with both feet OOB after catching the ball.

All with a ref right on the line no more than 20 feet from him.

Winning SB 36 had to be the highlight for me...until we won 38 and then 39. Winning 39 cemented the Patriots legacy as one of the all time great runs and being a lifelong fan I never thought we'd see that happen. Ever.

While those have to take the top all time moments I have 2 others that as a fan and a season ticket holder meant a lot to me:

1. I think it was Parcells first season as coach when we were 1-9 and played the Jets in a monsoon at Foxboro Stadium. Considering the record and the weather, the place was pretty full ( Ithink 45K). The rain was brutal, but nobody left. It was one of the first signs that things here had changed.

2. I was at the Snow Game when the "snow fireworks" were going off, that was a sight to see and something I will never forget.

Brady to Brown, 86 yard TD

troy made a fine catch, and i would call that win a steal. was it olindo mare who missed a 37-yarder that would've won the game?

troy is NOT a slow WR. he got behind those DBs and they couldn't catch him.
BTW look at the crushing champ bailey 97-yard INT return, ben watson knocks the ball loose at the 1. right behingd bailey was our man TB. if he's as fast as champ bailey he is not slow.
