Moss is at #10, which seems pretty generous to me. I would think he would have to prove himself after his slump that he is still an elite receiver.

Calvin Johnson is on there.......??????????? I think it is stupid to rank someone who has never played in the top NFL WRs.

Deion Branch is at 18, WTF? He has never had a 1,000 yard season!

Colston is at 25 which is too low.

When I saw Torry Holt wasn't in the top 3, I laughed. WHen I saw he wasn't in the top 5, I was rolling on the floor. Then when I saw he wasn't even in the top 10 I wanted to try to find some mental help for this writter. Torry Holt is the best receiver in the NFL bar none. The dude is a true professional. He runs the best routes, has great speed, the best hands in the league and is always working to get better. He's registerd 7 straight 1,000 yard seasons despite Marc Bulger being injured numerous times. What a joke, I don't even want to see the rest of the list.

That list holds absolutely no water with me. That guy just lost any credibilty he ever had which isn't good considering a read NFL collums every day and I've never herd of Bucky Brooks.

And I agree with clam boy - How Holt isn't in the top 3 is beyond me. I agree with the number 1, and I really rate Chad Johnson and Roy Williams, but they're not a patch on TH.

I sort of agree with you. I think Marvin should be number 1, then Torry, then Chad, etc.

His reasons for putting Branch on the list is because he is EXPECTED to be the primary target this year. Yeah OK, how has he proved in the past that he is one of the best recievers in the league?

I think Calvin Johnson is ranked high, He will be a HOF receiver in my opinion, but it is his rookie season with nothing to judge off of.

I agree that Holt and Wayne are too low, and Driver is far too high. Oddly enough with Driver, he was beat out by the guy just behind him two years ago. Does anyone think that Walker wouldn't have a *lot* better stats if he had Favre throwing the ball to him last year?

That said, I do give the guy some credit for ranking Steve Smith first. Smith is the total package. People forget, but this was a guy who was the Cats' only passing option in 2005, frankly their only real offensive weapon of any kind (please don't say that terrible Foster was a "weapon"). Despite this, he completely destroyed his competition. With the other teams consistently double teaming him he still was putting up an 8 catch 112 yard with TD game every week. IMHO, he was hands down the best player at any position that year.

If Smith were on the Pats, 99% of the people here would livid if he wasn't #1.

Well, he's a slot guy, not a #1 or #2 receiver, so there should be 64 guys ahead of him, two per team.

We can re-visit Welker mid-season, but I suspect the Pats will do more with the drives he helps continue with first down receptions.

We really do thank you for undervaluing him. Wish we had him the last two years.

You do realize that Welker was the leading receiver on the team last year, don't you. And don't give me any crap about double teams because neither Chambers nor Booker saw any double teams after week 1 or so. Neither they, nor Miami's passing game, deserved it. I will grant you that Chambers probably saw the best CBs on the defense, but this is still a very pathetic season for a guy that Miami fans think is so great.

Gods honest truth, and I would have said the same thing *before* the Welker trade. I wouldn't trade Welker straight up for Chambers right now. Chambers is who is he is. He is a guy that oozes potential, but still comes up small in the majority of his games. He will catch a decent amount of garbage time TDs, and he usually has an explosion or two that make his full season stats look decent, but that doesn't hide the fact that he is a non-factor in most of his games - particularly when the chips are still on the table.

While Welker has not yet had even one game where he looked half as good as Chambers' best games, he is much more consistent, and he is young enough to have optimism that he is still growing.

And to even insinuate that Booker or Ginn eek: Are you serious?! ) are better than Welker is lunacy. You do realize that Booker is 30 and has settled into his "decent player who will get you 600-700 yard" phase? Or that even Miami's head coach has insinuated that he expects absolutely nothing from Ginn as a WR this year?

Look, I am all for being optimistic about your team, but let's calm things down a little. I can see the case for Chambers (although I disagree with it) but it is downright laughable to go beyond him.
