Reiss's New Mailbag

Like manna in the desert...

Mike is growing. He's becoming more adept at adding some insight and opionion, but what I really appreciate is it remains extremely thoughtful and measured. He's not a knee jerk what I think I think (or know) mediot.

I hope Troy's knee comes around. Makes sense that since he's working here a deal is a formality hinging on if and when that happens. He's more upbeat than I am about Wilson as FS, so I hope he's right. Seems to have the same read on Jackson as most, unfortunately. And unlike some here he's not ready to insert Gay into a starting position at corner even absent Asante. He doesn't see Asante drawing even a single first, which I agree the team would trade him for if he holds out rhetoric aside, which in the end may be what gets him back in the fold one way or another.

Seems to think Moss had a relatively normal mini camp and didn't lollygag...he musn't have watched him as closely as eagle eye Felgie

Also, he has patsfans bookmarked.

That was one of the things I noticed also the names for the Pats linebacker positions Sam,Will,Mike and Jack and also I hope they kill the Cowboys on Oct 14th.

Reiss just dropped a few notches in my book. He has bookmarked the "Lunatic from Arizona's" website. :)

Welcome to the site I look forward to Oct. 14th

Thanks, me too, a bunch of my friends are going down for the game, we will be in season so I can't go but I think it should be a good test for both teams. I think with the Pats record against NFC teams it's hard for me to be over-confident but I think some of that has to do with them just being smaller and getting pushed around, and I like what Parcells built on defense. Should be interesting to see how we do against one of the elite teams in the league.

Actually Reiss posts over there occasionally.

That's disappointing to read Reiss take on Jackson. I dismiss pretty much everyone else, but Reiss is normally as objective as it comes. Hopefully CJ proves them all wrong.

Keep hoping.
The stump has been a disaster from Day One.

Smiley-face or no, this is unnecessary piling on. Please let's keep that stuff out of here. Thanks.

As Pats fans, do we at all care about Dallas?

To me it's just another game against an NFC opponent, equivalent to playing Philly, Seattle, San Fran, etc.

Is your dislike of Dallas personal (for instance I'd like to beat Washington because I lived in the DC area for a couple years)? I myself might think of the Giants game a little differently, but they're from NY/NJ so enough said. Maybe if Parcells was still coaching I'd care more, but he's gone.

Do other NE fans feel this way?

I see Reiss gets a lot of love on this site and others,I wonder if more people had direct contact with him would they think so?Just asking because I had a bad incident recently at Foxboro with him,I will not get into what happened as I dont think its the right place for it as he cant defend himself,But let it be known I found him extremely rude and hateful to me and my kids.Thats why if I like someone famous I would rather not meet them and have them ruin the illusion.

I know you don't want to badmouth him to be fair, but what was the incident?

thats interesting
everyone def has their own experiences
maybe he was havin a bad day, you never know whats goin on in someones life

anyway, i met him lil over a yr ago
one of my college courses in my last yr we got to have two guests a week, had huge names: michael holley, michael smith, bob ryan, wendi nix, and on and on
reiss was actually one of the best, seemed like a good guy
smith was my fave, he was one of the guys i had a chance to talk to personally just me and him, he was def the most personable, like talkin to one of ur boys or someone at a bar

On the ball-control thoughts with Dillon, I really thought Dillon slowed down considerably last year. From an overall perspective, I think Morris will be an upgrade.

about time someone backs up my feelings of morris

Doesn't sound like Mike Reiss....."hateful"?

Former Bengals first-round pick Chris Perry is one name that comes to mind as a possibility. The Bengals have Rudi Johnson and drafted Kenny Irons, so I wonder if Perry's days in Cincinnati are numbered. He's been limited by injuries, so there's no assurances that he'll be an answer for anyone.
if he became available, i would get him in a heartbeat, he would be an amazing heir apparent to kevin faulk

LaBrandon Toefield (Jacksonville)
i was a fan of his when he was drafted
im sure bb would call up his friend nick saban (toefield's college coach) if he became avail, and bb was interested

The Dallas game is good competiton for me because many of my friends and family members are Cowboy fans and the area I live in is Cowboy fan territory
so thats all you hear about so thats why I look forward to that game.
