We drafted 9 players.

Practice squad does not count because we risk losing them.

How many are worth keeping and possibly cutting someone for?

I say 2, (including Meriweather).

I would hope 4, meaning Kareem, one of the LBs, and the CB.

But that means they're better than someone on the squad or somebody's cut.

Best case, we cut 5 guys, worst 7. I don't see anyone else making this team, do you?

As every Patriots season ever has demonstrated, the last 10 to make the roster don't really matter, as they'll be off and on over the course of the season.

Impossible to predict. Too many intangibles. And we (at least I) don't know enough about them. But I do know, that from first rounder to UDFA, they'll get a fair trial from the staff. They'll produce, or they're gone.

with belicheck it doesnt matter the best 53 makes the team regardless of being drafted, if they dont make it they wont be good enough, carroll and grier use to keep every draft pick and where did that get us

Not sure how many will....but CoachB considers PSqd players as part of the team....whether they are available to other teams or not.

I agree that maybe 4 or 5 could make it, but there are some others that COULD develop in time...Meriweather obviously is the big impact player (hopefully) but there's also Brown and sadly with Hill's death..he has a better shot at sticking now. Richardson may be a good backup and ST player and Lua could be the ILB of the future...I also think one of the linemen could make the team..and there could be injuries and surprises but I agree it'll be a bit harder this year.

I would say Merriweather and maybe Brown if he beats out LeKevin. I don't think Lau will beat out Mays initially who has one year of experience on him.

The 2nd day of the draft it seemed the Pats drafted players low on everyone's draft board maybe hoping to hide them on the PS unless they really do well in TC.

My guess is 4. Mariweather and Brown are locks. Lua looks to have a future with the team, and I have a gut feeling that Richardson is going to make it.

Merriweather makes it for sure. Brown has a good shot if he demonstrates any potential, especially if he can grab some ST role. I think Clint Oldenburg is a sleeper. If he looks like he might be a LT, Britt could be in trouble. Another guy who should be considered a draftee is Mills as he was a 4th rounder who didn't play at all last year but has great hands and can play ST. I like his chances.

As for the rest of the crew, it's the PS unless someone on the 53 gets injured in training camp.

I don't agree with this. BB is smart enough to keep a rookie who ISN'T as good as somebody on the squad, because the rookie has more future potential than the veteran.

Because the practice squad greatly mitigates the penalty for not keeping first year players with potential, I don't see this happening this year. But I guarantee you that BB is looking at more than the players' current skill levels when he makes the cuts.

Not sure what this means (best case worst case). We'll be keeping the best 53, regardless of whether which players we cut.

I think that is an excellent question, but too soon to be asking it. There are just so many variables and so little info to go off. I have no flipping clue right now.

Those late round picks are hit or miss and most likely to be cut or put on the PS.

Only two.

Brandon Meriweather at safety.
Kareem Brown at DL, taking Marquise Hill's spot.

Mays beats out Lua, who starts on practice squad, due to his year in the system and special teams capabilities.
