Considering Brett Farve is only 3,861 yards away from Marino's number and put up 3,885 yards this past season, Marino's record could be broken this year.

I think Jim Marshall's record will be broken eventually with so many players now playing into their late 30s or even early 40s.

Jim Brown's record must have a minimum number of carries. I'm sure there are few third down/change of pace backs who have as high or higher rushes. Without out knowing the threshold, I can't comment. Same goes with Sayers and Anderson's record.

Brady or Manning could potentially break Elway's record depending on how long their careers are and how long their teams can continue to have 10 plus win seasons.

I think Unitas' record will be very tough to break. Too many variable beyond the QB. The Pats' record is going to be tough to beat because of parity in the NFL and the need to rest players for the playoffs if you are at the end of the season and everything is locked up. Points in a season looks pretty impossible too. I don't think anyone has gotten over 163 points in the last decade.

I guess that would depend on if a kicker is on a team with an unstoppable offense that almost scores TDs at will - Sometime in the distant future,maybe.

That would lessen the FG attempts thus give him a better chance at tying the record,PATS are usually near automatic if you have a solid line blocking for you and your kicks are never low.

We may not live long enough to see an unstoppable offense but who knows what the future brings for a team.

I think that the records held by Jim Brown's and Jim Marshall's records. Maybe Gale Sayers record, but who knows with the MIGHTY TED GINN on the Phins.*snicker*...

I think that Manning will beat Marino's record for career passing yards. Manning is averaging almost 4200 yards a season. He only has to play for 6 more season while averaging the 4200 yards and he will surpass Marino by 1200 yards.

I am not sure if we will see another team come close to the 21 games.

Manning or Brady (or both) will probably break Elways record of 148 wins. Manning has 96 regular season wins and 7 post season wins. Brady has 70 regular season wins and 12 post season victories.

The greatest individual record in the NFL is Eric ****erson's single season rushing total. How that failed to make the original list on this thread is mystifying. He established the record in 1984. Eric ****erson has become the NFL's forgotten man due to a perfect storm of variables, which together have obscured the brilliance of his career. His original franchise, the Los Angeles Rams, was displaced, and thus his original fan base, the one that most cherished his accomplishments, no longer exists. He also alienated those fans by pushing for a trade to the Colts. With the Colts he was the lone bright spot in a dreadful era still reeling from the move to Indy from Baltimore, the Art Schlichter debacle, and the stigma of the Elway trade. It was an era when the Colts were roundly considered the most pathetic franchise in sports. That period, including the almost palatable Ron Meyer era, is one happily forgotten by most Indy fans. So ****erson has a tenuous grasp on fan memory, and no signature franchise to hallow his deeds. I suppose only devoted football fans like myself, left in jaw-dropping awe by his performances, can testify to his greatness. In his prime he was the most electrifying runner I have ever seen. That includes the runners more recent fans fawn over, such as Sanders and Tomlinson.

This is right on, his records are going to be the toughest to break, but I don't think any of the records are untouchable. Its not like some of the records in baseball, where you just know they'll never be broken, like Cy Young's win total (511 or something?) Or Nolan Ryan's strikeout record (5700 and change). How about Gayle Sayers' single game TD record, was it 7?
