The Dolphins are in even more trouble than I thought.
That low an opinion of Trent Green? What was his injury, anyway? All I know is he has been like Brady, minus the Super Bowls, plus some higher numbers. No real sh**-hot receiver, except Gonzales, who after all, is still a tight end... but Trent Green quietly posted huge yardage and decent TD/INT numbers year in and year out.
You see this as a Culpeper redux, basically?
or do you see him as the Shottenheimer of QBs - can always post winning seasons, but can never win a playoff game?
If it's the latter, Miami is not expecting a Super Bowl, my friend. They'd be happy to knock off another wild card team and be offered up as a ritual sacrifice in the divisional round to NE, SD, or Indy.
I think Trent Green - if healthy - gets them to that point, assuming a few other dominos fall (no matter how old he is.) But that's the "upside" of the move... 8-9 wins is my more realistic guess.
