According to Pro Football Weekly, Tully Banta Cain tipped the scales "in the 290 lb range" when he showed up for OTAs with the Niners. Ouch.

"Two Niners free agent newcomers who we're told didn't exactly set the world on fire in the team's first minicamp were Michael Lewis, who did not look good at all in coverage, and OLB TBC, who reportedly tipped the scales in the 290 lb range."

Also, David Givens looks like a candidate for injured reserve in 2007.

How the hell did he get to 290, when he played for us wasn't he around 245? I hope for his sake that he's been bulking like crazy and will cut down to around 260 before the season starts.

This does sound like it should help our draft pick though.

He wasn't svelte when he played with us. Hate to live in the past, but we really put all our eggs in one basket there.

Big guys often put on offseason weight, but it's certainly not a good sign when the big gain suddenly appears right after the player's first huge guaranteed payout. SF better hope he was just celebrating, not saying "mission accomplished."

Perhaps its a touch mean spirited of me, but I find this report mildly amusing. Way to go TBC, it's not like you should be trying to impress your new employer or anything.

Not like it'll suprise anyone here when all he's becomes in SF is another player that's best know for being a "former Patriot"
