I was just wondering what everyones opinion is on the Yankees being 12.5 or 13 games back of the red soxs in the east? LOL I personally hope they keep falling further and further back LOL how sweet would that be.

That would be awesome, but we can't look to far ahead. It is the end of may, and I love the Sox, but it always seems like the Yankees are hot at the end of the season.

while I'm always skeptical of the Sox holding the lead, I think 12.5 games is going to be too much for the Yanks to recover from

We are going to continue to run away with this division

I'm curious to see the fallout from this!
Even though everybody in that organization owns a piece of this gazillion dollar collapse,a scapegoat will be demanded so who's head will roll?
Torre? Cashman? Both? Or...?

my thoughts...........happy:D

i think cashman is on the block here; recently steinbrenner said "it's his problem, he wanted full control and he got it..now he has to deal with it" (something like that)

Cashman gets my vote too-just bad,bad decisions :singing: of which Roger Clemens is just one. I think they'll rally at some point, but even then the Sox would have to completely collapse in order for the Tankees to win the division. I don't even see them in the WC just because there are too many good teams, but it's the Yankees so you never know.

*I think they lost again tonight:D

The Yankees lost again tonight (Memorial's day night) and the Red Sox won making their lead 13.5 games over the yanks!!!:rocker:

Looks like 28 millon wont save that team LOL Paid way to much for the rocket LOL If they dont make the playoffs heads are gonna roll.lol gotta love it.

12.5 IMO is not enough, have to keep in focus and keep winning.. even if they play 500 ball for the rest of the year they will only have a record of 86-66, which is not enough. Like to see this year be a truly memorable season, and a true barometer of the success of this team.

I would like that too, and lets hope the Yankees can't win the wildcard.

Actually it would be 91-71 (162 games)..With 86-66, (152 games)

As a Yankees fan I can tell you that they are not playing well as a team. At first it was the injuries to their pitching that was killing them, as it over extended their bullpen. Now, it's no longer their pitching that is the problem, it's their hitting. They don't play good baseball. They look like a softball team. They play sloppy, and without any sense of urgency. Personally, I don't think Cashman is in trouble, so much as Torre is. I've seen as many Yankee games as anyone (baseball package over the years), and can tell you that Torre lost his fastball a couple of years ago. He really has detroyed bullpens the last couple of years. I think Torre has a couple of Clemens starts before he's tossed in favor of Joe Girardi. At any rate, the division is of no concern, as the Wild Card is their only realistic shot at this point. anything is possible, as was proven by 1978 (I was 4 so...), but in being realistic, it's not looking to good right now.

Bahahahaha! :rocker:

Word is that the Giambino is now done for the YEAR. Apparently he has tore his planter facetus (I know I'm spelling it wrong, but y'all know what I'm talking about, the foot injury that Ty Law had (which kept him out for a year).

Funny how this guy keeps getting injuried lately, maybe he should get back on "that stuff"

I thought Law had the Anne Franc (something like that) injury? Anyway i have Giambi in my fantasy league so that sucks, but let's sweep em this weekend then it won't matter anyway....plus it would be nice for roger to make his much hallowed (by ESPN) return with the skanks 16.5 games out:rocker:

It's the stuff that is most likely responsible for all his post use injuries. When you juice for power lifting purposes, you abuse your joints as they are strained by the unnatural increases of the higher weight.

Sometimes my math gets fuzzy.. that record sounds better.

No problem. 1/3 of the season down, (54/162), 1/3 to go. Here's a quirky stat. Since starting the season 2-2, the Sox have won 7 of their next 10 games....five times.
They went 7-3 from April 7th-April 19.
Then they went 7-3 from April 20-April 30.
Then they went 7-3 from May 1-May 11.
Then they went 7-3 from May 12-May 21. N
ow they went 7-3 from May 22-June 22 with today's victory over NYY. That is consistency folks....

Now the Rocket will not pitch on Monday. Ths hits just keep on coming for this team. Pure comedy.

Here's to a full season of these Yankee problems.
