Do you think the Pats will do anything (Like put 91 on all the Helmets), or should do anything next season?

I bet they will do something like that on their helmets and leave the jersey number vacant for the year.

In 2003 wasn't a player on the team Panthers diagnosed with cancer and the whole team wore t shirts with his number under their pads and uniforms?

Yes, Mark Fields.

I think they should do whatever they feel. I don't mean that in a snippy way, just that if they feel like they need to pay tribute then they should, otherwise they shouldn't. It's impossible for us, not knowing Hill how they did, to know how they each feel.

The Patriots will pay Marquise Hill the ultimate tribute in 2007. They will win him a Super Bowl.

I know it is in retrospect, but it appears the Patriots team has had, in life, more respect for Marq than the team's fans.

He will be honored.

We only knew him as a (mediocre) player, they knew him as a (apparently stellar) person. You can't compare.

Yea I keep reading what a good man he was on all fronts, too bad we did not get to know him better.. nevertheless we have come to know him now, death can do that.

A great tribute would be to invite his fiance and son to the Krafts house next summer and give his son Hill's Suberbowl XLII ring.

Seymour said in an article today that there is talk about doing something and something will be done, it just had not been decided yet.

Here is a good article in a "fringe' newspaper by their "patriots writer' when they don't have him cover high school softball.

I have no doubt that, at the home opener, they will have a moment of silence for Marquise.

As for the rest, I am sure that it will be what the team feels is appropriate and what they feel that Marquise would have wanted.

RIP Marquise.

Exactly.

As I've said before, the fact that he basically failed as a player and still commanded all this affection and respect really makes me believe the nice things being said about him are true.

As for the thread subject -- Seymour was quoted as saying they'll do something but haven't decided what yet. I think patch-plus-ceremony is the default option if they can't think of something they feel is better.

He may have "failed as a player" in the eyes of the fans, but to hear Belichick and others talk about him and how he pushed them to be better, I can't count that as a failure as a player. I count that as a consumate TEAM player who has 3 outstanding players ahead of him.

they will have 2 small numbers on the helmet 91 and 84 for stingley
