I'm sure I'll ask this again (probably around TC time), but I'll put this up now to see where people stand.

Just a couple of notes:
(1) You can vote for as many as you want.
(2) For the purpose of this poll, PUP/IR count as "on the roster," while the practice squad does not.

[BTW--the polls only allow 10 choices, so I had to do some arranging, especially to include Troy Brown.]

I chose Randy Moss :eat1:

moss, welker, brown, caldwell, jackson, stallworth.

and that's a wrap!!!

Gaffney
Moss
Stallworth
Washington
Welker
Brown(PUP)
Jackson(PUP)

Which one of you said Moss doesn't make the team?!? And Welker?!?

Caldwell/Washington fight over job
Brown/Jackson
Gaffney

That is how i would order the receivers.

Moss is a possibility, if he acts fo badly. Unlikely, though.

But who the heck thinks that Welker will have changed so much and gone so downhill in 4 preseason weeks that we will swallow Welker's signing bonus? Absurd.

I like this one. Troy Brown is one of the greatest players in Patriots history, but is hard to seem him playing over the crop of receivers we have now.

Im sure they will find a spot. Or maybe just bring him in mid season if someone gets hurt or doesn't pan out

i really dont think Washington is going to make the team.

Can someone explain to me how Caldwell gets beat out by Gaffney for a roster spot? What has Gaffney ever done for the duration of his entire career with the exception of 3 playoff games ? (albeit great games). His best year in receptions is 55 (with a 8.9 YPC avg - ugly) and only went over 500 yds in a season once since '02.

Caldwell was our #1 last year and dropped one lousy pass that Brady should have quick snapped and gotten to him 5 seconds earlier. I really believe that drop (AFCCC of course) is causing people to overlook his serviceable career and a projected solid #4 for cheap money who is already in sync with the system. What about the bomb he caught one on one with Jammer that iced the second biggest upset win in this dynasty? He isn't good at running 40 yd flags with Moss or Stallworth but thats the point - its not needed of him. Whats needed of him is to catch 12 yards passes and move the chains when Stallworth's hammy gets strained in week 4. Sorry for the rant - just think the fans are leaving a serviceable guy high and dry.

I was in the wrong thread - I am reposting under the "who would you rathe have" thread.

In no particular order since the Pats constantly shift players depending the defense. I can see anyone on the active roster getting a potential start depending on the defense.

I think Troy will start the year on the PUP if he comes back. I think Belichick will only keep him just to let him have another shot at a Super Bowl. I don't know if Troy can that much of an impact as a WR at this point with his age and coming off of surgery.

All of the prime WRs make it except for Gaffney.

Moss
Stallworth
Welker
Washington
Jackson
Brown

46 of 47 voters picked Moss, 43 picked Welker, and 45 Stallworth. I'd like to hear from the persons who think any of these three won't make the team, because as far as I'm concerned, these are the 3 locks.

Brown (PUP)
Bam
Moss
Stallworth
Gaffney
Welker
Jackson (PUP)

I think this is going to be a hot topic for the next 3 months, and it will be debated on and off..

But there are 3 solid gold locks

Moss
Stallworth
Welker

the rest

I think Washington makes it, I see Brown and Jackson both on PUP, which then comes down to Caldwell/Gaffney battle.. And I think Gaffney beats out Caldwell... Or both make the opening day roster until Jackson or Brown are healthy...

You can click on the numbers in the poll results and find out. :)

But, seriously, I can't believe four people think Welker doesn't make this team. They're about as likely to cut Welker as they are to cut Cassel.
