NFL Management believes that Vick is guilty?

I'll tell you one thing: the hush money must be flying fast and furious out of Vick's wallet about now. A few high-priced lawyers likely have their paws in there as well.

There are people who have testified to seeing Vick AT the dog fights....

Really? Where did you see this?

How is there even any testifying being done. At a grand jury? How could you or anyone else know what is happening in a grand jury?

Okay relax, I'm pretty sure they meant "confirming" he was at dogfights rather that testifying. The informant they had on ESPN with his face blocked out stated he had seen Vick at dogfights, and yes they were prior to his being drafted but to me, a leopard doesn't change its spots, or however that saying goes. In other words, once a dog-fighting scumbag, always a dog-fighting scumbag.
Rot in hell with pit bulls trained to attack while tethered to a rape stand, Vick.

I'm not saying that message boards have to conform to Roberts' rules of order, but at the end of the day, notwithstanding all the crying about "high priced lawyers" and stuff, there is a reason we have courts and judges and lawyers.

To say that there has been testimony against Vick is a pretty serious thing to say. Anyone can say anything with a blanket pulled over their face. It's another thing to publicly say, upon penalty of prison if you lie, that someone did something.

There's plenty of time to go nuts about the guy once there is more information and if and when there actually is "testimony" that is believable.

Ill say it again........what kind of fungus enjoys seeing two beautiful animals tear each other to pieces......Vick should be banished from the league forever!

Have you ever seen a tame bulldog??? They are adorable

what did fungus ever do to deserve that comparison?? :(

The thing to worry about isn't Vick's high priced lawyers, its a couple of people from his entourage taking the blame for him and lying to keep him out of jail. I would honestly be shocked if he does any jail time.

It will be interesting to see what the NFL does if Vick is acquited at trial.

Give us a bit of credit, we are all smart enough to realize that there has been no formal legal proceedings therefore there has been no "testimony", but there has been confirmation of Vick's involvement. If you listen to the humane society reps who are very well versed in this disgusting practice, they have stated that from what they have seen, there is no doubt dog fighting was going on at that house of horrors. And if it were me and I knew I was innocent, I would be shouting from the rooftops my innocence. Vick's silence speaks volumes.

Seems we are miscommunicating. Perhaps sarcasm on message boards is so rampant that everyone assumes one is being sarcastic all the time. When I asked if there were testimony, I wasn't.

My view on Vick is that if he were actively involved in dog fighting, he should go to jail and perhaps not play in the NFL for a long long time until he demonstrates that he understands what he did is wrong and apologizes for it in a believable way.

That said, I'm in no rush to reach a judgment on this thing, and, frankly, I don't understand why anyone would be. To me, it makes no difference personally whether I decide Vick is a scumbag today or in July some time. There are enough incidents recently of false rushes to judgment because the media needs to fill 24 hours that my preference is to wait. I'm not really interested in what "witnesses" with blankets pulled over their faces have or haven't said, nor am I interested in what advocacy groups (even extremely well meaning and important groups like the Humane Society) have to say. Nor am I going to make a judgment on what Vick has or hasn't said to date. I'm going to wait to see whether and how the facts come in. I understand that others have already made up their mind or have strong opinions, and that's fine. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and my way of looking at these issues is no better or worse than anyone else's.

If there were "testimony," or reports of testimony, it would be interesting to me. When someone posted there was, I assumed that either I had missed something (I'm not following this that closely), that a grand jury had been empaneled, or that someone was overstating it, so I asked a question. It has nothing to do with giving anyone credit or not.

Sorry I jumped on ya, I'm used to the lawyers of the messageboards I visit getting all in a huff when someone says something that may not legally be correct but is for all intents and purposes right. Lawyers seem to be a sensitive bunch :D

Not likely. Heck, it may not matter if Vick goes to jail himself.

And it looks like the Feds may trump the locals to make sure that croney DA Poindexter doesn't mess it up.

This case is becoming more and more complex on a lot of levels. As far as the NFL/Goodell goes it'll be interesting to see what transpires. I saw an interview between ESPN and a sports journalist/commentator down in ATL (forgot his name) which addressed the Falcons' position in all this. The journalist said it's very difficult because despite everything,Falcon fans apparently still love him as a football player and very much want him as their QB.
On the flip side, other Falcon players who have long lived under his shadow are sort of enjoying his difficulties.
I hope they nail him,but I have a feeling this whole dog fighting "sport" has more powerful ties than we realize.

I think the whole planet thinks that he's guilty. It's just a matter of assembling a case and going through proper procedures.

I strongly disagree. The same people that thought OJ and Michael Jackson were innocent will think that Vick is innocent and thought that Ray-Ray was an innocent bystander, ect.

I wish it weren't like that, but it is.

Blame everything on 'The Man'.....

Once it starts flying there's no telling what new "highs" it will reach in the world of bestial behavior. Tragic, simply tragic.

That is exactly what I am talking about. The people who cry most fervently that he is a sweet angel in heaven until proven guilty are usually the same ones that really don't care if he is guilty. When the facts come out, they will claim it all is one big conspiracy against poor Vick, who innocently runs a slaughter house for wayward dogs.

There is maybe a 5% chance that he didn't know what was going on at HIS HOUSE. All the rest is pretty much baloney.

Vick has been getting into all sorts of trouble this offseason, I hope Goodell lays the law down and sends a message to these guys that can't stay out of trouble. I think Vick will probably buy some high priced attorneys to make sure he gets off but by then his rep will be ruined and will be headed out of the NFL limelight.
