Argh, lets see if they change their tune now that Brady FINALLY has some legitimate weapons at WR.

I love how they talk about Brady having the better defense. Yet Manning always having pro bowl / hall of fame offensive weapons has nothing to do with Manning's "records". I wonder if Mannings far superior offense had ANYTHING to do with his success. Noooo guys like Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, Dallas Clark and Edrin James could not help a qb. A stellar offensive line ( like Manning has) could not help him pad his stats, noooooooo couldn't beeeee. This comparison is biased. Who cares anyway, colts fans claim espn does not know a thing when guys criticize there team.

Most these guys are colts ball washers. Especially Hodge and Clayton. Manning has always had far superior offensive weapons. Lets switch receivers and see his stats. Brady has always done far more with far less, period.

Yawn. Same old story.

I'd pay money to see Peyton Manning play with the receivers we had last year.

Or Alternatively, Brady with receivers like Harrison and Wayne year in and year out.

For some reason everyone always talks about the defense Brady has but not the WR. I don't get it. Whatever, as long as Tommy maintains, and adds to, his lead in rings, I'm good with it.

Don't worry....this debate his going to get put to rest once and for all. As long as the new group of wideouts stay healthy....and they can get on the same page as Brady. Brady will prove he is and always has been the better QB.

They also conviently forget that in 2001 the Pats had the 24th or 26th rated defense and in 2003 their defense had improved to 22nd or somewhere around there. Proof once agains they they don't know what they are talking about

I'm not surprised most of them picked Manning but unanimously

With that list of "experts" you are shocked. Clayton and Hodge are the biggest colts fan boys in history. The fact every single one of them ignored the monster offensive weapons Manning has always had proves the biased nature of this article. I would love to see Manning throwing to Caldwell and Gaffney:rolleyes: Call out Brady on his d yet ignore Manning's vastly superior offense that surrounds him. Yeaaaa that seems pretty unbiased.

There has been pro bowl offense surrounding manning since day one. Manning had edge, Brady had Smith (lol). Brady had several sets of wr's that never netted 1000 yards Second rate guys was the term used I think. Manning has/had hall of famers and pro bowlers since day one. How about the offensive line Manning has? What a shock he had big numbers. The espn experts left out all the guys who have always said Brady was better, and asked the colts fan club. This article was meant to stir up crap, and it is working. Brady had done so much more with less. Manning's DEFENSE won him a sb this year. The greatest ever had some pretty impressive number this postseason. Oh wait, they where terrible and a kicker scored all the points in the Baltimore game. Givc me a break, Brady had better numbers in the playoffs. Manning can thank his defense and sheer luck for this sb.

Fact is these guys have been waiting for manning to win for the last 7 years. His d got him a ring and overshadowed his pathetic playoff performance early on to win him one. Colts fans love to claim manning makes players better. I think Mannings weapons make him better. The amazing catches his receivers make prove it. manning had never had adversity. he had never had anything but the best offensive targets/weapons surrounding him. I would love to see what he would be able to do with the receivers Brady had this year. He could only do it 1 time with the best.

Say it with me now... DISRESPECT!!

I hope, and I bet that BB will have this pinned up on the Pats bulletin board.
You thought Brady was eager to start the season before, this will really get his juices going.
I almost feel sorry for the Colts when we meet them... almost! :D

I'd like to see Brady take his team to the superbowl with

1) One of the top 10 worst defenses of all time

2) THE worst defense to ever play in and win a superbowl championship

3) Being the first team to EVER beat the #1, 2, and 3 ranked defenses in the playoffs

Wayne and Harrison have played with Manning their entire careers. While yes it's true they are both great recievers Manning enhances
everyone's ability on that offense

LOL, you're acting like Peyton was the only factor in the Colts playoff wins.
When the truth is that he was medicore to terrible until the AFCCG vs the Pats. And somehow the Colts, on the strength of smoke and mirrors and Bob Sanders inspired play, managed to play the best defense of all the playoff teams until the AFCCG clash.

Game 1
Colts vs Chiefs
23-8
Peyton throws 3 picks but the Colts defense shuts down LJ and the game goes downhill from there.

Game 2
Colts vs Ravens
15-6
Colts score ALL their points by virtue of AV's leg.
Peyton's performance hardly what I'd call blistering.

AFCCG
I'll give Peyton credit for gutting out this win.

Superbowl
Does the NFC even desreve a finals berth anymore?
We all knew who the champ would be after the AFCCG.
This was more a coronation than a football game.
The Bears and Grossman looked befuddled, confused, and out of place.

Now fast forward to 2007 offseason.
Colts have lost both starting corners and a starting linebacker and have replaced them with a 3rd round pick Daymeion Hughes?

You guys better hope Hughes can play 3 positions on the field at once because I think not even Bob Sanders can save this D. The 1st round pick of course went towards another wide receiver.

I'm sorry but I think that you will be remembering that 2006 Colts defense that you so lowly rated above with a great deal of fondness after you see the 2007 Colts defense in action.
I could be wrong, but really where are the replacements coming from?
Unless that is Polian has a secret cloning facility and plans to crank out 3 more copies of Bob Sanders.

1) One of the top 10 worst defenses of all time

So what? Manning was god awful the first two games of the playoffs. His defense was the only reason the colts moved on. This article takes Manning's entire career in to account. They all ignore the fact manning has always been surrounded by the best offensive weapons /line you could ask for.

2) THE worst defense to ever play in and win a superbowl championship

They where the only reason the colts won the sb. Again, Manning was god awful the first two games the colts played. He is a liablilty to his team in the playoffs 85 percent of the time. Adam kicked ALL the points in the Baltimore win LOL. Neither Baltimore nor the Chiefs even showed up to play. Take a look at Mannings numbers in the first two games LOL:rolleyes:

3) Being the first team to EVER beat the #1, 2, and 3 ranked defenses in the playoffs

The pats d was a shell of itself. The bears where missing a bunch of key players, and had the ravens offense showed up it would have been lights out. Kc is a terrible football team , give me a break lol. This article is as biased as they come:rolleyes:

Wayne and Harrison are very special players. Saying Manning makes them better is sheer bull****. When Manning makes a bad throw and I see Wayne contorting in the air to make a insane catch I will remember that. The facts are this article ignores the fact Manning had always been a part of some of the greatest offenses ever. The best offensive weapons you could ever want. Then ignores the fact Brady was throwing to second rate receivers and handing the ball off to a average back most all of his career. Mannings offense is just as valid as Bradys D. The weapons Manning had pad his stats, period. If Manning was soooo great he would have more then one lucky ring. I would LOVE to see manning tossing the ball to the guys Brady was this year, love it. Not to mention they where rookies to the NE system.

Who really cares?

Patriot fans and Manning haters will say Brady.

Colt fans and Brady haters will say Manning.

Nothing will ever change that and all these arguments are pointless. "Who is the Best QB" is all based on opinion. As a Patriot fan, I know we want to argue until we turn blue and until every person in this world says Brady is better than Manning, but that will never happen, so why even bother. Maybe Manning might be better. Who cares? We still have three Super Bowls. See, the only thing we can say without a doubt is that Manning has put up better numbers in his career and Brady has won more Super Bowls. Those are the facts here.

As far as opinion. In my opinion, Manning is better passer and is probably as good a pure passer as we've seen in this league in some time. In my opinion, Brady is slightly better when it comes to having a clutch performance. His last game was a bad one, but he has few of them.

As leaders of their teams, they're probably about equal.

If you ask me who has more passing yards and TDs, I'd say Manning. If you ask who has more championships, I'd say Brady. But if you ask, who is a better QB, I'd say they are about the same, the two best in the NFL.

Manning may be the better QB, but Brady is the greater QB. And he always will be. Marino vs. Montana all over again. Except this year Montana may start lighting it up like Marino.

And why is he greater?

And why is he greater?

Leadership, willingness to sacrifice for the team (on and off the field, see respective contracts), work ethic, ability to do more with less, ability to step up under pressure...and of course 3 rings vs. 1.

Okay to put it simply it is like comparing apples and oranges...until now. Lets make it this situation:

Peyton Manning has the WR's that go by the names of Reche Caldwell, Troy Brown, Jabar Gaffney, Doug Gabriel, Chad Jackson, Kelvin Kight, Benjamin Watson, Daniel Graham, and David Thomas.

Now i mean no disrespect for the Patriots Receivers, and I love them all, but lets faces it. Manning with this set, would probably barely be able to throw 3,000 yards. brady managed to get 3,500 with these. When i think about it more, Manning plays a style of offense, where he has one or two very dominate receivers, he throws to on pretty much any play. So my guess is that Manning would not have the ability to spread the ball around this many receivers. It is amazing what Brady was able to do with these players.

now Brady has Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, and Brandon Stokely. Now, I don't think that the Patriots or Tom Brady like playing with just a few receivers, and like to spread the ball around, but i bet that Tom could get along fine with this set or wide outs. I could see Brady throwing in the middle-upper four thousands, while still playing the run. The deep threat would prevent safties from playing up, and a player like Marony would prosper, being able to make it into the open.

So my opinion is that the only reason manning is this good is because of the talent around him, and that if he were to lose his great receivers he would be no where as close to as good he is right now. I think that this is the first year we might actually be able to compare them fairly.

But all this offensive line talk, the Colts are only making it better by adding the amazing talent of Tony Ugoh on their line, drafting him a round early.

Edit: But just to make the point, both are the two best playing now, and I think both of them are hall of famers.

Gee no different then Pats fans acting like Ton Brady is the only reason they won their SB's. Glad to see you realize winning the SB isn't the result of one player. Also you'll notice the experts would take Manning over Brady, even though Brady has more SB wins. Speaks voulumes!!
