He says the colts will fail to make the playoffs.

I think what he meant, though, was that the Colts and Bears would both fail to return TO THE SUPER BOWL. It was a little mixed up with the question being about the playoffs.

My favorite question - I live out here and these SD fans are a wonderful combination of generally uninformed and totally delusional - was this one:

Mark_in_Seattle(Q): With the talent the Chargers have on offense, and Norv Turner calling the plays, I would think the Chargers could possibly set an NFL record for points scored. What say you?

He actually just says that they won't make the Super Bowl.
He slams the Bears pretty hard.

Ok, I understand what you're saying but it wasn't delusional. What the truly less than informed fan tends to think is that Norv is an offensive genius and that he's gonna get "crazy" and toss everything plus the kitchen sink. Norv may very well do that under certain circumstances. But we're actually fairly predictable. We're gonna do the following things:

- We're gonna run directly at a given team and see how well a team handles that.

- We're gonna run outside and see how well a team handles that.

- We're gonna play action and see how well a team handles that.

The above is in no particular order. It's also rinse and repeat. It's also mix in other plays based on prior tendencies observed.

That is going to be our strategy. That is what every good to great team does. Including the Patriots. You also experience great fortune. But it's like what they say. Fortune favors the bold.

While you can surprise teams it IS a 60 minute game. It's war. Most teams have an idea about what we may want to do given down and distance. It's all about talent and execution. Initially we'll be heavily inclined to try precisely what a team thinks we want to do and see how well a given team fare's? Gotta go there. Nature of the game.

That said? Try and grasp just how PIS SED off I am about our last game. :D

At the Pats, or your former coaching staff and the exemplary player geniuses who made the mental errors?

I'd like to know who all these Pats fans are that are declaring Moss our savior.

When it comes down to off-season moves, the signing of Thomas and Stallworth are just as big as getting Moss. And I am pretty sure that is a majority of the sentiment on this board.

Good question. More so at personnel than at our coaching staff. That said, staff made two clear cut blunders. Wait, I must acknowledge that some of my brethren would suggest 3. Some of us would suggest that us going for it on 4th and 11 in the 2nd was a mistake. Obviously hindsight is 20/20. I'm choosing to not take exception with that call. It was what it was and didn't work out. I do understand the decision. It was early in the game and we DID have a handle on the line of scrimmage. Anyone who suggests that's not the very FIRST thing staff is looking at doesn't understand the game. So I gotta let that call go.

First clear cut mistake. SD going into cover 3 at the end of the 1st half because we missed a friggin 4th down opportunity was a p u s s y move that I hope I never see again. That was staff mistake one because you scored a TD. Grrr...

Next mistake. Marty challenging the McCree strip by Brown. Big mistake. It cost us a TO that we definitely could have used. Instead of 4th and no TO's at the NE 30-40, with ONE more TO there's no telling how much closer we could have been? Yea, I know. Coulda, shoulda, woulda. Sigh!

With the above said. Bottom line? I still put it on our personnel. Too many people that I'm not calling out in the here and now didn't do enough. Staff actually did not turn out to be a plus, but? Ask any player. Bottom line F staff! Show me a serious player who's attitude is not about - HANDLE YOUR BUSINESS!

I agree. In fact, from a SD fanboy perspective, Thomas is the one and only move you made in the offseason that could be classified an absolute upgrade. Draft choices notwithstanding.

Stallworth and Moss could help depending on various factors. Most important factor being whether your OL can withstand the assault that is definitely coming it's way. Nuff' said.

Brady put up 50+ passes and your "assault" consisted of what?........one sack?

unless you're going to "assault" us with your pocketbooks.......excuse me for not fearing the NFL's most over-rated defense.

BTW......how's that defensive guru,Norv Turner working out for ya?

...its May...

Since when is throwing 50+ passes a good thing? Ask your quarterback what he thought of that defense fool. At least he's not such a blind homer that he wouldn't admit he struggled.

read boltsfan's prediction of an assault, you nitwit!

50 passes or 50 runs......we were better and we beat you on your home turf.

now,pick-up your pocketbook and move your team to the Arena Football League...where it belongs.

End of story....or steroids...in San Diego's case.

The Patriots O-line more than withstood the "assault" that came during the Divisional game last year and the Chargers haven't improved the personnel there at all. I am not impressed with your ILBs and they have a HUGE affect on how the 3-4 defense works.

The problem with the Chargers defense is whether or not they have enough people to cover the Pats receivers. And, if they do, will they have enough to stop the running game?

Really? I read it and I didn't read that.

Well, I do have to admit that Brady did struggle a bit (27-51) against the Charger defense and he did throw 3 picks.

However, he was hardly assaulted. One sack did result in a fumble, but Drayton Florence (one of the goon squad on the Chargers with Phillips and Merriman amongst others) handed the Pats a 1st down with his being stupid.

On the other "sack" Brady had actually returned to the line of scrimmage by the time Merriman got to him. It shouldn't have been called a sack, but it was.

Since then, your defense has taken a step backwards, imho. Your front 7 isn't nearly as good as it was. Matt Wilhelm - Matt Chatham. Good special teamer, and spot starter, but not someone who you rely upon to start for an entire season.

Yes, your secondary might be improved if Weddle starts and if Jammer and Cromartie improve. But those are some big ifs. And Jammer hasn't exactly been stellar.

I put a lot more faith in Moss, Stallworth, Welker, Gaffney, Caldwell, Watson, Maroney, Faulk and Morris to provide the needed offense the Pats need to burn the Chargers. Particularly over the middle and up the seams.

That Pats offensive line is really pretty damned good. It's hard to question them in pass protection, although their run blocking could use improvement.

Question for Bolt fans,

Why is the city losing money on the Qualcomm Stadium??

Sounds like an old stadium, with all past debts paid off.

because the city of san diego is corrupt (the cities leaders)

as for the problem with our defense, it was obviously that we couldn't hold onto our int of brady.

you give a guy like brady too many chances and he'll burn you, marlin jackson went down to the turf after his game ending int for indy, the other marlon (mccree), didn't.
