A little while ago (probably around an hour and a half ago) I received a phone call from a friend I hadn't talked to for probably two months.

Here's a paraphrasing of how the phone call started (My friends name is Bill):

SP: Hello?
Bill: (said my name)?!?
SP: Who's this?
Bill: It's Bill...I bet you're surprised to hear from me?
SP Yea, it's been a while since I've talked to you...
Bill: Around two months or so?
SP Yup, that's probably about right...So what's up?
Bill: Well, I've got another surprise for you...
SP: Your mom died?
Bill: How did you know that?
SP: I don't know, I just had a feeling...

Now we continued to talk about his mother passing and I passed on my best wishes for him, his father, grandmother, and brother. We also talked about my mother, and some other things. Sometimes you almost don't know what to say when someones going through something like that.

The part that's strange is that I knew he was going to tell me his mother died. She was previously sick, but she didn't seem that sick, was at home, and I thought she looked alright. It's also been at least two months since I've talked to him, so I didn't know her health had declined so much. It's kind of odd how you could know something like that, I guess that's just life...

Edit: For those wondering his mother was only 59 years old.

I don't know, Sebman but if a guy tells me he has a surprise for me, the last thing I would expect is a death in his family. That seems bizaah.

Nevertheless, my condolences for your friends' Mom.
59 is way too young to go.

That wouldn't normally be my guess either, I just got a feeling he was about to say that.....I can't explain it.

Yes, 59 is to early to go.

Too many calls into the psychic hotline during the draft...

First of all, condolences, Seb. There's stuff going on around us that we don't understand.

In 1972, I was visiting my parents during school break at Christmas and had a dream on Christmas night. Inthe dream, I saw a guy I knew and heard a voice saying "[name of guy] is dead. [name of guy] is dead."

When I returned to school after the Chrismtas break, i learned that [name of guy] had died on Christmas day.

I didn't know him that well. He was relatively young (early 50's) and was in, to my knowledge, good health.

So, yeah, I get what you're talking about. Respect the universe.

It happens....I can relate.

Life is not as linear as we believe it to be.

I can relate; whenever there is danger near, I get a strange tingly feeling in my senses which, without fail, enables me to aviod harm.

my condolonsces
59 is kinda scary young
very sad

this really reminds me of somethin that just happened to me
i dated this girl for over three yrs in college (graduated a yr ago), and hadnt talked to her in a few months because her current bf said she couldnt
anyway recently for some reason i had the urge to see how she was doin
then my great aunt died and i kinda wanted to tell her
so about a week after that happened (two weeks ago) i imed her
here's how it went:

me: hey hows it goin
ex: could be a lot better
me: why whats wrong
ex: i have some really big news, are you sitting
me: hold on im on the phone
ex: forget it
me: no, no, just give me a minute
me, later: wats up
ex: are you sitting down
me: yes whats goin on
ex: i dont even know if you have the right to know
me: its okay, you can tell me if you want, whats up
ex: its just weird i havent talked to you in forever, and now i have this really big news
me: is it really bad?
ex: well, we haven't decided yet
....
it was then that i knew exactly what her news was...she was pregnant...and i was right
shes only been dating this guy for a few months
recently had "the procedure"
i felt really bad

but yeah, its weird how we kinda know these things
it was weird how i had the urge to talk to her out of the clear blue...did somthin inside me know what was goin on?

You probably called the Celtics getting #5 too, didn't you? It's a powerful gift you have. Just please resist the temptation to use it for evil.

Hahaha! Yea, I don't believe in that stuff, especially the psychic hotline version.

Some years ago I was tremendously impressed when I read the Psychic Friends Network (of Dionne Warwick fame) filed for bankruptcy....

My condolences about your friend's loss...
