Seau re-signs
The Patriots have announced the re-signing of linebacker Junior Seau today.

A bit from the press release:

The 12-time Pro Bowler will enter his 18th NFL season and his second season with the Patriots. Seau, 38, was signed by the Patriots as a free agent on Aug. 18, 2006 and played in the first 11 games of the 2006 season while making 10 starts. He recorded 70 tackles (37 solo) in 2006, a total that ranked fifth on the team. Seau led the team in tackles twice in 2006 and recorded a season-high 15 tackles in a game against the New York Jets on Nov. 12. He was placed on injured reserve with an arm injury on Nov. 27, 2006.

:woohoo:

Welcome back Seau.

Nice. Like most others, I wasn't worried about the delay . . . the Patriots aren't a team that's concerned about diseminating information quickly :)

Yes, great news. Grandpa Seau ought to give you about 10 games and an excuse to blame injuries.

And we'll give him something the Chargers or Dolphins couldn't: a Super Bowl ring.

I see you getting sent to the 'visitors locker room' pretty soon - thats for rival fans who don't have the intelligence required to post on here respectfully.

Laters, troll.

This was reported on NECN on Sat night. I've been looking for confimation since then.

Welcome back, Junior.:rocker:

this offseason has been great, think they have adressed every need as good as they possibly could, lets get to training camp!!

Hopefully this means Chad Brown isn't coming back.

Since Friday morning I've been reporting Seau was in town taking a physical, and later that day posted a source (Jim Trotter) who confirmed this, so I really thought it was just a matter of time, and expected to get this news today.

Anways, I'm glad to see Seau back on the team, and I really like that Lua should be able to learn from his childhood idle.

But the news was out on Sat!

Also it said that we had signed Chad Brown along with Junior.

Watching Seau being escorted off the field that night, still acting like a warrior even though his arm had been turned to jelly, it really made me hop that it would not be the last time he would play in a Patriot's uniform.

He far exceeded anyone's expectations, and even at his advanced age he showed why he is a first ballot Hall of Famer. He is such a fiery guy and a good player, it is good to have him back.

I absolutely agree.

Just to add: he clearly felt very comfortable in New England, to judge by the appearance I saw on Patriots All Access. I am sure that having him in the locker room will be a further reinforcement for Rodney in making sure the new players get the message about how things work around here ...

Welcome back, Junior Seau!!!:eat1:

I am quite thrilled!! Hope he doesn't get hurt and gives us a full season worth raving about.
