Patriots release drawings for Patriot Place

I am not so sure this place is going to take off. Foxboro is not a central, convenient location. Sure, it's great to go to a couple times a year for a ball game, but I doubt many people will want to do their routine shopping there...

Judging by the stores that have signed on so far, I think youre right. Imagine having a mall with the Christmas Tree Shop as an anchor?

40,000 visitors a day?

Is it just me or does that number seem a little overly ambitious?

Bass Pro Shop is the unique store of the group so far.....Davios and other restaurants along with the Patriot Hall of Fame along with a jazz/night club and four star hotel will equate to a lot more cash for the Kraft group.

I think this thing is a cannot miss.....wish I could invest.

I'm curious as to how they will handle parking at Patriot Place on gamedays - charge $35 for it? How will that be handled by the stores leasing space?

Perhaps there'll be validated parking or somesuch thing? It sure doesn't look from the drawings that there's much parking near the stores in any case, except across rt 1. Do they expect shoppers to walk that far?

The retailers will love the fact that there's 4 home games between Thanksgiving and Christmas! :D

After reading more about it, obviously it has potential...It just sounds odd that the Christmas Tree shop is there....I guess they couldnt lure Jerry and his Building #19 chain?

Here's a labeled drawing from the Globe:

They also have a video on it:

I hear that.. Christmas Tree shops paying that kind of rent is weird, in this kind of mall......Maybe Jerry is next LOL.

What will they do on home games, as far as parking goes though - interesting.

If the picture is even close to accurate, 90% of the foot traffic into the stadium will be coming in one gate, from the Lighthouse side. The ubid entrance will not have much in the way of parking near it, except for the private lots south of the stadium.

Leave your tailgate extra early if you want to be in your seats before kickoff!

Any of us who went to Green Bay and took the tour along with the Packer hall of fame and enjoyed the atrium with it's restaraunts built into the side of Lambeau field last fall couldn't help but be impressed. The tour guide told us that it is only closed Christmas and Easter. This looks much more ambitious. 40,000 a day ......Easy! I can't wait for the Hall of fame and Bass pro shop to open . This will be a huge success. My only question is on the effect on parking.

I think the group of stores closer to the stadium will be more of an upscale mall. The Krafts are smart for placing "man" stores in the back area. With a jazz club and theater the layout looks like outdoor upscale malls i've seen in california. Besides, southeastern mass is growing quickly. Looks like the Krafts' did their homework again. It'll be a big hit in that area.

I just don't see it... Who the hell is going to go to Foxboro for a 4 star hotel..? It'll sell out 10 weekends per year and be empty the rest.

So youre saying if you lived in Utah, you wouldnt pack up the kids and come to Foxboro for a week in mid to late February?

Quigs, this is the start of South Beach North! They can paint route 1 blue to make it look like the ocean!

People who don't want to pay the same price for a 2 star hotel in the city.

All those businesses who have club seats now will finally have a viable reason to schedule conferences and other business functions at Gillette in the off season (they get this now with their Club Tix, but there's no decent place for guests to stay nearby, so it's underutilized as a business place). Most business centers have that type of hotel right in the same lot so that folks can get one ride in from the airport and not have to travel during the meetings. Also, Foxboro location means you can fly in either to Boston or Providence.

Most hotel usage is business driven. Tourism is only a very special case for certain locations.

UConn is doing the same thing around their stadium (which is off campus). They are located on the Pratt and Whitney property in East Hartford and that is being built up with a variety of shops, hotels, P&W research facilities, and perhaps even residential areas. Parking is our question as well. The manager of the facility assures us that it will not have a major impact except on one of the on site lots. I don't buy it.

Looks futuristic. Sorry Annihilus.

Bingo! That's clearly a huge piece of this whole puzzle. We've heard how the Krafts have already been out front and creative in leveraging the stadium itself as a site for business meetings. Now they have the ability to host full events -- say a regional sales conference for 200 people. Opening reception at the Hall of Fame, stay at the hotel, have a private screening of a motivational film at the theater, closing party at the stadium. All-in-one package planned for you. If you have a New England-based group, it's a knockout.

There are100's of high tech companies along rt 495. Most of these companies have vendors and clients fly into TF Green airport in Prov. These business travelers will keep that hotel full. It's a Marriott not the Ritz Carlton.
