Ricky Williams once again failed a drug test with traces of Marijuana in his system and cannot apply again till september for reinstatement.

Lets stop this nonsense of wanting this drug addicted, overrated bum on this team - Its stupid to even think we would consider this lying, half witted guy who just wants some more big bucks contract so that he can purchase 'the expensive goodies' all more often,he must be running out of money for the stuff so desperation to get back in the NFL is the only real easy money for him.

He makes Randy Moss and Michael Vick look like mother theresa.

dog fighting? domestic assault? lethal weapons?

wake up.
the man is a pothead. marijuana use remains detectable for almost 6 months.
so he smoked a joint at new year's. have you ever smoked a joint? ever? more than once?
drug addict? overrated bum? lying, half witted? must be running out of MONEY?
goodies? this from a guy who spent most of the past 2 years living in a TENT?
nfl is easy money? you think that?

ricky williams is a football player. da patriots need a big back.
i'm not at all sure he's a fit. does he even want to come to a cold-weather team? can he stand to play for BB? do SP/BB even want him?
but the notion that he's greedy, 'half-witted', drug addicted, 'lying', is damn near slanderous.
how many yards did he gain in 2005? how'd he do, with his 'drug-addicted', lying, greeedy self, against the patriots?
what was his weight? was he out of shape? late for camp? a problem in the locker room?
he CAN, after all, just go play another season in canada. so, MONEY? i think not.

wassup with you? got some deep-seated resentments against RBs from texas?

Please list the "bad" things Ricky Williams has done in his life besides smoking reefer.

The problem isn't that marijuana is bad, the problem is that it's against the rules and could get him suspended. I wouldn't want a player who could become unavailable at a moment's notice because of a suspension, even if it's for nothing bad.

I don't like the idea of a drug addicted player ON ANY team...and by the way I was never stupid or idiotic enough to smoke Marijuana EVER - It stinks bad enough let alone smoke the crap, If it gets you into lala land for a few hours more power to you,Its pure stupidity.

You like the stuff ,good for you,I prefer my team to have athletes who have not failed drug tests numerous times...Maybe you should become a fan of the Raiders or Bengals where they probably pass the stuff around in the locker room.

I Prefer the Patriots to be a clean team - despite all the talk about character guys on here these days,Bet you Stallworth comes up clean for drug testing when they test him again.

And yes,Ricky is overrated like most former or present dolphin players are...Except Taylor and Thomas who I respect alot.

(To the poster above you) And since you were with Ricky on new years eve did you have fun and hang out with the rickster? Also you must be with him all the time to know he quit drugs cold turkey since jan 1st....give me a freakin break and get a reality check-denial is not only a river in egypt.

The guy needs major rehab or he will walk out in the middle of the season and screw his next team again

And BTW; He sucked in the CFL,probably would fail at arena football as well , Hes a loser - get over it

Ever have a beer?

Ever have a beer?

To be honest with you,the last time I had a beer was 2 miller lites at a picnic in 2003

If I was not a gambler I could qualify for sainthood :D

Not even a smoked cigarette or cigar in your closet?

Drug addicted to marijuana? I think you need to do a little more research.

By the way, you've smelled marijuana before? I hate to tell you this, but if you've smelled it, that means you would test positive.

If you're really so hung up on this, I suggest you run fast if you're ever near marijuana smoke ever again, because even as second hand smoke, it WILL show up in your system.

Bad time for Ricky to get another failed drug test. Goodell is looking to lay down the law and he may use Ricky as an example. Williams may have played his last down as an NFL player.

Ever have a beer?
LOL, some of us actually obey the laws even if we don't like them :D

Seriously I've never smoked anything in my life, cigar or cigarette of any kind. Now, beer, I've had my share of good times there . . .

I know you meant it as a joke, but your prior outburst warrants it anyway: Thinking of oneself as holier than thou is, amazingly, one of the criteria that excludes people from sainthood consideration.

Did Ricky really fail another one? What are the details of this? Jeez, Ricky..

As far as "character" goes, as a measure of the humanity in men, Ricky would prolly be among the top 5 Pats on the current roster, if it were to ever be. Anybody who doesn't realistically admit that marijuana use amongst high profile athletes exists is living in "la la land" perpetually, not for "a few hours".

PS: If he failed another one, I can't really excuse him if his intent was to return to the NFL...

Occasionally I smoke pot and rather enjoy it. Having said that, I wouldn't want Ricky Williams on my team, never said I would. My point was, he is not the bad person that you make him out to be. Your homerism is really shining bright! I'm a life long Patriot fan and that is not because some team members smoke or don't smoke (if you think no Patriot player smokes pot then your truly in denial).

Quite true. It can last for more than a year in tissues, longer in hair. If you're a bit on the fatty side, a simple jog on the treadmill will release it just as long.

Sorry, man, to seem to pick on you...

But: For pro sports, gambling is just as illegal as pot. If not more so. Ask Pete Rose. For the rest of us, it is also illegal in most regards (excepting the lotto b/c the state profits, and casinos, etc). In general, the penalties are much stiffer, if any indication of "morality" can be attributed to it. Seems more of a transgression than utilization of a God-given plant that grows from the green Earth, opposed to, well, how would you define gambling?

Bad, bad Ricky. Smokin' that illegal ganga stuff. At least Ricky isn't an alcoholic like Babe Ruth who drank openly during prohibition when alcohol was illegal and who is now one of sports most famous idols.

Finally!! Somebody that watched "Reefer Madness" and got it. BTW. If you think no one on the Pats current roster smokes weed I have a bridge you might be interested in.

Nope,My dad smoked 2 packs of Kool a day and died in 1971 of a brain hemmorhage at 46 with smoking as a big factor...Never was stupid enough to try it myself.

And cigars?-forget it,When I am in a casino and the stench of cigars is in the air I move to the nearest breathing space.

Can't stand the stuff..Besides my wife has cases of Bronchitis many parts of the year, would not be a smart thing even if I liked it.

Its all over Sirius today..It must have been kept quiet until now because they said the testing was late last month.

If any Patriots player smokes pot and gets away with it with a clean drug test thats another thing..As the old saying goes "What you don't know won't hurt you" - If a player passes a drug test for some reason despite smoking pot he is lucky and knows the way to get around it,I am sure there is some kind of way to beat the drug testing system.
