Wasn't PFW all hot and bothered about this guy?

It couldn't hurt the throw him into the Lua/Warren death match, although I would like to see a vet or two added.

Colts | Hoyte released
Tue, 8 May 2007 08:11:40 -0700

The Indianapolis Star reports the Indianapolis Colts released LB Brandon Hoyte Monday, May 7.

I would be very surprised if the Pats go into training camp with

only 11 linebackers. Mike Reiss said recently that they went

to camp last year with 14 (not including Seau).

This is the wrong Hoyte. O. Hoyte plays FB for the Cowboys.

Yea, LOL! It's not Oliver Hoyte who was released, but Brandon Hoyte of the Colts.
Yep, little bitty thing. I'd have liked to see Oliver on the street and available for a test drive.

The only problem with Oliver Hoyte is that he lined up almost strictly at FB for the Cowboys.

Ok, I coughed up a fur ball on this one. Hopefully my next "hot tip" is a little more accurate.

If you count everybody with a "LB" after their name as a linebacker, that's true.

IMO they will add a vet (Seau, Hartwell, Brandon Short, Gartner or some other JAG) before the June mini camp and let the rookies, special teamers and the new vet(s) fight it out.

Heat 1 - Seau, Hartwell, Brandon Short, Gartner, some other JAG
Heat 2 - Rogers, Warren, Lua, Bissinger

Final Depth (hoped for)
ROLB - Colvin, Woods, Rogers
SILB - Seau, Warren
WILB - Bruschi, Alexander, Izzo
LOLB - Thomas, Vrabel

Practice Squad - Lua, Bissinger and Mays if he is eligible

In reality I think Tedy plays SILB out of necessity. The overall talent level is strong enough to cover up this hole but he is not suited for the position and is a better fit at WILB.
