Talks about run game..pass..mostly OL blocking for both categories

heres something interesting. 49% of our run plays were between center-guard..we also had the highest or 1 of the highest success in power ranking(3rd-4th down runs) with 62%

ranked dead last when we tried to run at the right end..meaning Kazcur and O'Callaghan struggled
we ranked 4th in league in ypc on the left end..20th when we ran at left tackle..9th up middle between center-guard
and 24th at right tackle

also look at previous rankings..2005 and 2004

2004 we were very good..ranked top 10 anywhere we ran at like 8 5 2 8 or something like that. then 2005 we were terrible..all in 20s i believe and 31

I would be interested to know the splits of those stats between Kazur and O'callahan.

It amazes me that a man who's 6"8 and 320 lbs can't maul on the right side.

i think it was more kazcur struggling than O'C who i may be wrong

its not just the player himself..depends on defense..the guard..FB..anyone whos supposed to pull and what not

Center of gravity too high?

remix, for power runs, you meant to type 82% not 62%

One of the Three Games to Glory tapes talked about the Pats preference for running behind the C/G.

The rushing stats over and around RT is startling. But on reflection, I guess it should not be surprising. We were playing a rookie RT and a newcomer to the position coming off a injury. O'C is a mauler but not very mobile, so I guess it should not surprise that he can't get out to run block. Kaczur was recovering from a bum shoulder and new to RT. the other criticism is to be laid at the TE and WR on that side. Is Watson that bad as a blocker? Was Reche a poor blocker?

I would be inclined to critique the RG, but I recall many fine pulls by Neal and he is very quick with fine body control from his wrestling background, to get to and lay it on a defender. So the failure to run wide right isn't an immobile pulling Right Guard or a guy who gets there but than can't block the guy there.

I anticipate that the situation will sort and straighten itself out, just from experience gained by the players involved.
