I think it is absolutely hilarious how the rest of the NFL is reacting to the Pats offseason. I have visited Colts, Jets, Broncos, Chargers, and Steelers sites, and every one has a long thread about the Pats' offseason. They all have the two things in common...they attempt to minimize the impact of the acquisitions, and ....they are very long threads.

I must have missed it, but where is the agonizingly long thread on THIS site about "AFC Team X's" overrated offseason?

We are in the heads of the rest of the league. The biggest downside is that it unfortunately removes the bullseye from the Colts' back where it rightfully belongs.

The Steelers and Colts won the last two SBs, but it seems everyone still considers the Pats to be the class of the NFL....we'll at least they are getting THAT part right.

If the Colts or Chargers had our offseason, I'd definitely spend some keystrokes trying to convince myself that it was no big deal.

That, or just roll up into a ball and cry.

The offseason leaves room for denial, because we have yet to see the results on the field.

At the same time I not going to think we are the greatest until I see it on the field, but I am still very excited.:D

I would be doing the same thing. Last year I was trying to minimize Tomlinson's accomplishment before we played them, but after that game I got what everyone else knew. That guy is amazing. I think he really realized his full potential this year. Their offensive line isn't bad either.

We're in the heads of the fans, not the NFL or the players. The league understands what has happened, but that does mean, as you say, that the bullseye may be on the Pats as much as the Colts.

Their OL is way better than "isn't bad". The Charger OL beat NE's DL consistently in the playoff game. Sure, they did attack TBC regularly, but I saw the rookie LT beat Seymour on several occasions.

Without seeing every team regurlarly I can't say they are the best in the league, but they were certainly the best I saw all last year.

I was using an understatement to prove a point. I was really impressed with their line. They were decent in pass blocking but great in run blocking. That rookie is great but I think Seymour was really injured. He had the elbow and knee injuries, which he had surgery for, and just watching him you could see he wasn't at full health. Teams started targeting him and TBC on running plays.

Sorry for my misunderstanding.

BTW, I too thought that NE would hold LdT in check, but it wasn't because of any discrediting of him. I thought that NE's DL would win the LOS like they usually do, and like they did against NY the game before. I guess that is why I was so quick to jump to their defense.

Not saying Pats shut LT down, but the Chargers did only score a touchdown in teh 2nd half and the Pats defense got the ball back for the offense multiple times in the 4th quarter. I'd say our defense won the battle vs their offense that day despite some good running from LT.....

Wow! The Charger fans are so confident and they should be with that team but...Norv Turner is thier Coach.

He only got the ball 6 times. Thanks, Marty!

Marty was their coach last year and they did alright, and he was pretty much a lawn ornament during games.

Marty has always been good until the postseason. Turner's suckage knows no such restrictions.

But they also had good assistant coaches last year......That has changed.

I think that's one of those things we repeat because we've heard it so many times. But none of us actually knew what Marty did, or did differently in the offseason. Maybe it was his coordinators that choked in the playoffs, maybe it was his players. All I know is the guy didn't even wear a headset during games.

I was watching NFL network today,Fran Charles and Adam Schefter were talking about team changes re the fraft, free agency.schefter said the AFC East has improved overall, but what the Patriots have done to improve is"off of the scale".

Yes, some NFL people will admit that the Patriots have improved "off the charts" but most "experts" hate the Patriots as much or more than fans of other teams and they will never admit how much better the Patriots have gotten.

Take the playoff teams from last year....

Colts - added some decent draft picks but lost more than they have gained by losing 2 starting corners, starting DT, Starting LB and OL.

San Diego - decent draft but has a completely new coaching staff with a horrible head coach.

Patriots - Gained wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more than they lost.

Jesters - good draft but I think they overachieved last year and will take a step back with a playoff schedule.

Kansas City - did not address their needs in offseason or draft. Denver will overtake them easily.

Baltimore - Improved but still have no QB.

Chargers The Love Us.

I love this Quote
"The Pats are like an old beauty queen going back to the plastic surgeon again and again trying to salvage their fading beauty. They're desperately stretching, tucking and filling with the hope of holding on to their glory days. Their time has passed.

This time belongs to the Bolts."

Oh my god that's so funny! Oh it is freaking hilarious. Stop it! Oh my god that's so funny!

I have to say that Chargers fans are among them most arrognat I have ever seen. I frequent other teams boards, including the Colts and even they don't spew this much crap about how great their team is.
