Lets all put this monumental/amazing weekend/offseason behind for one second.
Does anyone know off the top of their head of any LBers becoming FAs next season? Is next years draft class potentially deeper at LB? Are you all satisfied with our Draft choices/UDFA signings and our current depth going forward?

One nice thing about the 2008 draft choices we picked up is that we can trade them for talent, either before the deadline, or during the subsequent off season.

If the FA market doesn't have what we want, BB (who likes his LBs mature) will find another way.

next years draft class at LB features two big Ten guys:

Dan Connor of Penn State and James Laurintits of Ohio State.

I'd be pleased if we drafted one of them.

Whenever I watched Ohio State Laurinaitis was always around the ball. He'll be a junior so he might not even come out next year and at 230 he would need to bulk up quite a bit to play on this defense.

A junior LB at FSU named Geno Hayes may come out early if he has a good year next year. He's a real good, fast LB. He has pretty good size at 6'2 215. From what I've seen, I think he compares to Ernie Sims as far as talent goes. He's not quite as good as Sims, but still pretty good. IMO he'd be a great pickup. FSU has a good reputation of putting quality LBs into the NFL.

FYI for all you wrestling fans out there. Laurinitis is the son of Road Warrior/Legion of Doom member Animal...

Rey Maualuga will likely declare for next year's draft. The guy's a freak (6'3" 250lbs+), and would be NE's starting ILB straight out of college.
