at thegreek.com, one sportsbook I go to.

The Pats are the favorite at +405 (bet $100, win $405)
2nd and 3rd are SD +725, Indy +825

Bodog has them at 6/5 to win the AFC Crown and 2/1 to win the WHOLE TAMALE.

Just FYI, at Sportsbook.com it's...

Pats 5-2
Chargers 6-1
Colts 10-1

Without any true legit corner out there you may want to add an extra '0' after the 10 to the Colts chances of repeating ;)

Har, har. The corner situation really doesn't worry me that much. Line backer depth is a bigger issue. Back to topic. You going to drop $10 on the Colts just in case? That way while you are disgusted that the Colts won again, at least you have $100. :D

Not sure if I'll use Bodog again. Asked for my money one month ago and they can't deliver. Oh, and its not a lot of $.

I had a similar problem with Sportsbook. It took a while to get my money, but once I did it was no problem. I work with a guy that had problems with Bodog too. Once he got his money it took 3 banks before he found one that would accept the payment check.

You guys should have to GIVE $405 to get $100, it's over.

Bet a $100 on each of theses three teams and it seems like a sure moneymaker. But considering a new coach in SD, and the player losses in Indy, I would take 4-1 on the Pats and sleep pretty well, especially if the Pats go head to head with one of these teams in the AFC playoffs where a hedging opportunity would surface. So who's heading to Vegas?

Why not take Pats and a team like Cincy? Imo, a team other than the BIG THREE would be a pretty decent value pick. Maybe the Donks too?

I got +605 on the Greek on Sunday morning and that was just after the Moss announcement. About 30 minutes later it dropped to 405 and then a little later it went down to +365. Since then its held steady at +405. Not sure why they avoid round #s like 600 & 400.

Two weeks ago I got +700 at Hard Rock but wish I had picked up more when I had the chance. When futures first came out at offshore books, you could have gotten +985. Seems like poor value to take +400 now but of course that was before any of the Pats acquisitions.

On that same weekend in Vegas I got a future prop on Brady to lead the league in passing at 8-1 at the Venetian. I tried calling a friend who was in Vegas this past weekend to see if he could go by there and get me more but I never reached him.

The Colts winning, I didn't realize that Anthony Gonzalez player cornerback.

I like to put a lot more $ on season wins.

Hilton Las Vegas had over 11 even (+100) and Venetian had 10.5 -135. I think the 10.5 with the juice is the better play.

At the time no other books had season win futures out yet but now that the draft is completed you should start to see them pop up all over town.

One and done. Take your 1 championship and count your blessings. Rodney Harrison and a full squad would have beaten you last year, this year won't be close.

As much as I love the things that have been done in the last two months,I dont like to be the "favourite"team..somehow it seems to bring a cloud with the designation...in any event I cant wait for the season to start!

Well, that goes to show you how irrelevent Vegas odds are (unless you actually bet).

For all that Indy has lost in personnel, they shouldn't be so close to the top of the list, but Vegas puts them there because they believe a lot of know-nothing bettors will still pick them.

Who cares, these mean nothing IMO. The Colts are the favorite until they lose.

They're interesting to look at, just to get a gauge of popular opinion. No one is saying they hold actual weight.

But yes, the Colts are champs until someone proves otherwise.

eh, point spreads are very accurate in judging the relative strength of 2 teams at any given time. there is a reason why it's extremely difficult to be over 55% over the long run.

The Colts are 100% champions until someone else wins the Super Bowl. I'll give you that. Even if they go 0-15 they are the defending champs for their 16th game! boy that means a lot.
