I hate being anointed as likely SB winner.

It sucks! Gotta stay hungry. NFL is about hitting and being hit. Consensus pre-season favorites don't want to be hit; they expect their opponents to just pack it all in ahead of time. Remember that unstoppable Viking team w/ Moss and Carter and Jake Reed and Robert Smith and Culpepper? Atlanta upset them in the NFC championship game. They were all full of themselves and looked unstoppable over the course of the season.

This year could prove to be BB's greatest coaching challenge.

Yeah it's kind of weird being the favorites isn't it? The Pats thrive on disrespect. Still, after losing to the Colts in such a heartbreaking fashion I am sure that Brady and the Patriots are as hungry as ever to get back to the top.

Yea, I don't like it either. I feel like if we go into the season being the favorite, something is gonna bite us in the @$$....

Are we gonna have any disrespect cards/lockerroom material this year?

people on here are never happy...if we're not the favorites, we all get mad that we're being disrespected. If we are the favorites, we're upset. haha I think we're only actually happy in the moment after we win a game, before anyone can comment.

Have to agree with you there, actually. The only time I am actually content is after a Patriots win, for those couple hours after the game.

God, its not like I play for them or anything.

I think I have an unhealthy obsession.

I don't mind. For one thing, I have heard plenty of analysts say the Colts repeat. We are taking crap for winning the "offseason Superbowl" and that gives us plenty to prove.

Superbowls are won in February, in the meantime there is a long 9 months in which anything can happen.. on paper we look probably as good as we ever have, but need to translate this into wins... this is all hype and many fall into this without looking at the big picture.

very true, great post

do not forget that Rodney Harrison is still on the team. he will find some way to play the disrespect card.

Let's not forget that even those Vikings were one field goal shy of sealing that game. It's not like the Vikes had overlooked their opponents and just got beaten down. It was a well-contested game between a 15-1 team and a 14-2 team.

It was oddly enough the first kick that their kicker had missed all year.
