I prefer to refer to him as Harpo Marx or Napolean Dynamite.

I think the CHB is a perfect nickname for that clown. When I see him on NESN, I change the channel. I rarely, if ever, read his articles.

Felger is starting to bug me like that also. Borges, I refuse to read.

Sadly, good local Patriots writers are becoming so hard to find.

I still think Tomase and one of the better ones and Reiss is great.

If trading the 28th pick in what was widely considered to be a weak draft, for Randy Moss and the 49ers first rounder in 2008 - is showing up the Sox, then Kraft needs to demand more of it!

I would dog the Sox but they have made some brilliant trades under Theo. Some questionable signings/non-signings but great trades nonetheless.

The only person obsessed with the Red Sox is Shank Shaugnessey himself. I mean, for Pete's sake, he made a Calvin Schiraldi reference in his "football" column today. You gotta be 30 years old to even remember that schmuck.

I think after 20 years, 3 Super Bowls and 1 World Series you can give it a rest, Shank.

He never writes a football column without a) sounding like an @sshole and b) referencing something to do with the Red Sox. Ever. Shaugnessey is a joke!

Can someone tell me where all this stuff comes from? I know that of course the two main teams in town are going to 'battle' to grab the most headlines, that makes sense. So why is that such a big deal? Where does the "Kraft obsesses about it" come from? Are there quotes from him "obsessing" about it? If it's just a matter of the Patriots annoyed every once in a while by how much coverage the Sox get, OK, I would think that's normal. I didn't know we were at the level of the Yanks and Mets battling for the back pages, and even then no one says those two teams are "obsessed" about it, it's just normal to want the most media attention.

Shank should thank Bob Kraft every day for the Red Sox World Series win.

I strongly believe that if it were not for the success of the Patriots that the Red Sox would have never won a World Series. They were pushed by Kraft and the Patriots to pull up their bootstraps or else risk losing the title of #1 team in the city.

Kraft raised the bar for Boston sports fans to the point where losing to the Yankees every year was not acceptable anymore. He forced the Red Sox to empty their pockets because Boston fans wouldn't accept anything less.

Even still the championship count is 3-1.

Kraft showed this city how to be a winner and how to run a model franchise. The clowns running the Red Sox just followed his example.

I still remember Sideshow Dan throwing a hissy fit that hew was not invited to a breakfast for patriot beat writers in Kraft's box.

I don't doubt over the last few seasons Kraft has been annoyed at times by the sports media focus in this town being so skewered to a baseball team that hadn't won anyting in 86 years. That said, if anyone obcesses over attention it is the Boston Marketing Sox and Lucky Lucchino who had to be fuming this month and last when Diasuke mania and Sox-Yankees rivalry weekend festifities were rudely interrupted by that dynasty they are forced to co-inhabit the region with. That's why Lucky sicked his curly haired pit bull boyfriend on 'em. CHB and Lucky are as the cell phone commercial says in each others 5.

Mr. Kraft has always shown the utmost class in everything he has done. Dan Shaughnessy should be ashamed to put this garbage out.

Check this out...sounds like CHB...except its for KIDS!

Conduct Disorder/Oppositional Defiant Disorder

Oppositional defiant disorder

ODD, is a milder form, and sometimes a precursor to conduct disorder. In contrast to children with conduct disorder, the behavior of children with ODD does not involve serious violations of others' rights. It does, however, impair the child's family, academic and social functioning.

Children with ODD show extreme levels of argumentativeness, disobedience, stubbornness, negativity, and provocation of others. While such behavior can be true of most children at some point of their lives, this diagnosis is warranted only for the few children (3-4%) whose symptoms persist over months or years, occur across many situations, and result in pronounced impairment in their functioning in home, school, and peer settings. These children's anger is usually directed at authority figures. These children are more willing to lose a privilege than to lose a battle, so discipline by withholding privileges often has no effect on their behavior. It is the oppositional struggle which becomes the reality in this child's mind, and this struggle, unlike the typical lower level defiance seen in many children, basically takes over the child's life and relationships with others. For example, while "temper tantrums" are common among children, frequent and very prolonged temper tantrums (3-4 hours) often characterize children with ODD.

I've got a kid with this; it isn't relevant to humor.

"Shaugnessey obsessed with being relevant."

While that certainly wasn't my intention to offend, I honestly thought it was something that sounded relevant in the mode of CHB's constant "negativity". My apologies.

That's ok; i'm not offended. But I will say, ODD/OCD is something that can ruin a person's life, and damage the people around them, due to its intensity. Dan doesn't have this; he has a major insecurity problem of some kind.

It seems to me that he thinks that if the sports world doesn't revolve around the Red Sox, than it's ok to spew venomous garbage towards the owner of a sports team who's done more than John Henry could ever do. Not every person who lives in New England is a Sox fan, including me. I'll take the Pats over them any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Shaughnessy needs to get over himself. Felger, too.
