I know its early, but most of the additions are done, with the exception of a ILB like Seau, Hartwell or maybee even Wilson.. Here what I think the AFC East will look like

Pats 14-2

Jets 9-7

Bills 7-9

Miami 5-11

Jets take a small step back, Bills will be avg, while I really think Fish will be even as worse this yr..

5-11, that's just laughable. What have the Bills done to make you think they are better than the Dolphins? How does the Dolphins' defense get no recognition from you guys when they were 4th in the NFL last year, single handedly won 6 football games and added Joey Porter?

This has got to stop.

14-2? - Sean,Lets be realistic,We have a very tough schedule against many teams who should make the playoffs - 12-4 is likely, maybe 11-5 or worse with a major injury setback to a premiere player.

I still think we are thin at ILB ,better worry about that before you pencil in 14 wins IMO

Got to agree with Aqua on that one - Miami should be 9-7 or 10-6 ahead on the Bills and possibly the Jets,I think if Green is QB in Miami they will have a decent passing game and you already know how good Taylor and Thomas are on the D - Give the Dolphins a bit more credit than 5 wins - Won't happen

To me its ******ed to be picking final standings in April but if I must I look at it as....

New England 12-4
Miami 10-6
New York Jets 10-6 (lose out 2nd on tiebreaker within division)
Buffalo 5-11

I think it goes something like this:

Pats: 1,000,000-0
Jets: 0-1,000,000
Miami: 0-1,000,000,000
Bills: 0-infinity

Carey was just moved to the left tackle spot and draftee Samson Satele will play LG for us so the line is starting to sure up a bit. I like your pick but I'm currently saying 8-8 or 9-7 for the Dolphins. But like you said, it's dumb to pick in April.

For once I agree with you. You guys will be lucky to win three games. You'll never win five!

I'm begining to think you don't watch much football or really know what you're talking about.

Until i see a QB that can throw the rock like Marino did for the fish, then Miami will always have a solid defense and a so so offense.. Fear not fish fans, one of the Pats 2 losses will be at Miami.. :D

I do feel the Jets are still a threat, because Mangini is some sort of kryptonite to Belichick.. Maybee Im a little overzealous with 14-2 , 12-4 is a realistic record .. I do feel the NFC East is more competitve then the NFC north..

What does the NFC have to do with your post?

Buffalo won more games than the Dolphins last season. Buffalo currently has a healthy starting quarterback, Miami doesn't. Buffalo drafted one of the highest rated linebackers in the draft to help on the defense, and a top tier running back, to help on the offense. You may not like, or agree with the assessment, but it's certainly defensible. And, given that the Dolphins currently don't have a healthy starting quarterback, the notion that, as currently constructed, they'll take a step back and win one fewer game than last season is certainly not 'laughable'.

Each year, you play a division from the other conference. Last year was the NFC North, this year it's the NFC East. Sean Pa Patriot apparently feels the NFC East is the better, more competitive division, and will likely give the Patriots more trouble.

They lost 3 of their 4 best players on defense. Clements, Fletcher and McGahee were all leaders and play makers on their defense and are all gone. Yeah they got Willis, but he doesn't have the impact of all 3 of those guys, not even the impact that Fletcher had (yet.)

On offense, don't tell me you think Lynch will come out and be a 1200 yard rusher. McGahee was their best player on offense and he is now gone. I like their draft, but they lost in free agency, especially over spending big time on OL.

He makes a good point.

11-5 seems pretty pessimistic to me. We do have a hard schedule but the same was true last year and we managed to go 12-4 with more holes on the roster. I don't like to make specific record predicitons because it is so hard to tell but I am suprised by how low some people's expectations are. I'm not one of those people who are saying we are the greatest team ever and will go undefeated or anything. Nowadays 11-5 is a good but not great record. The 2003 and 2004 teams showed that if the Patriots have a Superbowl caliber team they will put up 13 or 14 wins regardless of how hard their schedule is. When they are at their best there are not a lot of teams who can beat them, so if you think they are going to win the Superbowl (as it seems most people do) then I would think you would expect more wins than 11 or 12.

Crush them 21-0 at the end of last year? Actually have a decent QB who's developing nicely? Make good draft picks?

I think the Bills challenge for a playoff spot this winter.

I think Lynch will come out and be a 1200 yard rusher.

His style is very similar to Maroney's. Lynch is in Buffalo, however, where he'll get more carries due to the mediocre passing game and he doesn't have Corey Dillon behind him.

You mean in front of him.
