Just got released from Philly. Do you think we'll take a look at him?

IMO He comes from one of NFLs best organizations and is a solid plaer - Why not?

Vrabel can go inside at times if needed at the position and Dhani would be an asset to us

He's a smart, experienced guy. Will he bring enough lumber to play the ILB in NE's 3-4?

I'd venture to guess Dhani's the smartest guy in the league. I know Brady would vouch for him if asked. Dhani would be a good role player here, I think he's versatile to make it work.

This guy is absolutely horrible in run defense... He gets run over every play, thats why they let him go.....

Agreed. Living in the Philly region, I have watched this guy play. Terrible. Hates contact. Monty was better.

Dhani Jones is a average starting caliber 4-3 WILL linebacker who I beleive was a Safety in college. h eis at his best in coverage.

Does he fit the Pats? Not a as a full timer as he was available from the Giants before Philly got him a few years a go and BB passed. But that was when BB had his situation substitute "coverage LB", and one of the best in Don Davis.

Don retired, after his knee injury put him on IR. If he hadn't been injured last year, I am fairly certain that the AFCCG turns out differently, if he was there to do his thing.

I think that "Mr. Bowtie" could easily fit in as a situation substitute in the Patriots reserve LB corps. He certainly is a classy Harvard type dresser.

Ouch:bricks:

I always wonder why we haven't contacted Orlando Huff...

Because he was horrendous playing for the Cardinals.

Jones is a decent enough player, good coverage LB. Definitely not a guy you want on the field for a majority of snaps, but on passing downs he'd be good to have. He's also a very smart player, definitely the kind of guy Belichick could find a use for.

holy crap and Monty was like a wet paper bag out there.....that doesn't say much for this guy...oh and the "hates contact" comment is a red flag too!!

This is inaccurate. Dhani Jones has always been a linebacker, and has always played on the strong side. In the NFL he has primarily played the Sam. At Michigan he played inside a bit in Hermann's hybrid 3-4 looks.

Like Biesel, his calling card says "High Energy Special Tweener" on it. If he's starting for you in a 4-3 you're not very good. Our Parcellian 3-4 is out of the question.

EDIT: Maybe you meant he is suited for weakside, in your eyes.

No thanks. Re-sign Seau and we'll be set at the LB position!

Mike Vrabel would beat the crap out of him. No way Dhani comes to Foxboro.

(Everyone should know what I'm referring to...)
