Has anyone heard anything about the possiblity of Seau coming back for one more year? We didn't really address ILB through free agency or the draft and I would love to get Seau back for one more year.

Does anyone else thinks BB has him in the plans for next year?

Rumors out of San Diego is that Seau does want one more shot... The big question is just with who. Hopefully its with the Pats.

I doubt it,I think this year we will sign a younger less big name at ILB late in the spring and Seau finally 'graduates for good'

I won't even pretend to know what Beoli is thinking on this. All I can say is that Seau's contributions were evident, and then he was gone. He's got that learning under his belt and is almost qualified for his NE Pats Master's degree. As long as he's healthy and willing, why not bring him back?

Re: Is Seau coming back for one more SB run?

I'd love to see Seau back for one more! I hope the Pats sign him. He can clearly be the role player we need at the position, just like last year. Come in to stuff the run. Besides Samuel getting locked up, the next thing on my wish list this offseason is to bring back Seau and Brown. Obviously the Pats not drafting LBs high means they prefer vets in there to do the job or maybe they just didn't see a perfect fit LB for us in this year's draft. Either way, I'd welcome Seau back with open arms and hopefully he gets the ring he deserves. IMO

Re: Is Seau coming back for one more SB run?

Not that what he actually says ever seems to register , but Bill Belichick stated three weeks ago that they remain in touch with Junior so they are obviously interested in resigning him if he is in fact interested in returning. I would imagine his interest is increasing exponentially if a ring to cap his career is what he truly wants.

Re: Is Seau coming back for one more SB run?

I believe he has said he wants to play one more.

We only have one starting ILB, not counting OLB Vrable, so I'm sure he'll get a shot barring other signings.

Re: Is Seau coming back for one more SB run?

I thought Seau played very well for the Pats last year and would welcome him back. His leadership was a bonus as well.

That said, the guy hasn't made it through a full season since 2001. If they bring him back, he probably won't play the full season.

Re: Is Seau coming back for one more SB run?

Doesn't it all hinge on his healthy?

I am sure if he is healthy, he will want to get on board if the Patriots want him. How could the Pats not want him if he is healthy? He picked up the defense well enough last year, while clearly being a shell of his younger self. With him last year, the Patriots played well and could use that level of defense to go all the way.

If nothing else, I want to see Seau get his ring. He is a leader on the field and could be a strength in the locker room with questionable folks like Meriweather and Moss coming in.

Re: Is Seau coming back for one more SB run?

I think he would actually prefer San Diego where he makes his home...but given the coaching changes there and what the pats did this weekend he may be on a plane already:cool:

I for one would love to see him back. Get him on the field with his buddy Rodney and get him his ring!!

I agree with this. He and Teddy were really starting to mesh particularly against the run. Junior seemed to pick up the Patriot LB role/system extremely fast. Just think back to some of the recent LB vets who never did get it. And this could be a problem with any other LB vet that could be brought in.

Re: Is Seau coming back for one more SB run?

If Seau was definitely done he would have retired by now. If Brown was done he would have retired by now. All it takes is a phone call (and the vet minimum).

Both of them are mulling returning and if I were the Patriots I would give them a shot.

Re: Is Seau coming back for one more SB run?

Why not? it was just an arm injury, right? I think BB wants to give Troy, Seau, Harrison a ring and then they retire.

Seau??

anybody know what up with Junior Seau?
is he coming back?
with the all the big names on the roster this year he could be another good one.

Re: Seau??

I for one would be surprised if he doesnt come back, and even more surprised if he didnt make the team.I would like to see him have one more good year with us.

Re: Seau??

Re: Seau??

Yes, please. We need him in the rotation.

Re: Seau??
