After drafting two linebackers this weekend, the Chargers officially parted ways with linebacker Randall Godfrey, notifying the player's agent last night that their contract offer was no longer on the table.

Would we be interested? I don't know anything about him.

Solid player. My Charger friends will be fuming because that leaves Wilhelm and a couple of un-tested players in the middle.

I have to say, we need ILBs obviously, and at this point, you have to sign FAs.

Randall the Sandall? Sure, I'd take him.

I'd rather have Carlos Polk if he's still available. He's played both ILB and OLB for them.

So would I, but he re-signed for 2 years in March.

I say keep plugging in them ol' Chargers until we've raised up the New Patriots, at LB. Come on down, Randall... and don't forget to turn the lights out!

we didn't release him, he's been a FA since FA started haha

they won't be fuming if they have half a brain and did their research/followed their team

wilhelm and cooper are the starting ILBs , with dobbins siler and waters as depth

godfrey's a guy who almost retired last year, and has decided to come back for another year to either sd or dallas, when we drafted waters and siler, we yanked the offer, it's pretty simple, he had lost his starting job anyway.

polk signed back on with us already

it truely amazes me that some of you guys don't know who the current FAs are , godfrey's been out there since FA began

sorry to be so brutal but come on....he's been a FA since FA started in march, how could anyone not know this?

a just comment I feel, people around ehre can be kind of testy, hey JC any word on Turner?

if you believe fisher, he thinks AJ didn't really want to trade turner and denied trading him for a 1st rounder in 08, which speaks highly of his insurance value to LT. i think as far as tenn goes, as soon as they drafted chris henry, they were eliminated from turner sweepstakes.

barring some team losing their starting rb and offering us a sweet deal, he'll be a charger in 07 , and unless LT gets injured, he's going to walk to FA and we'll get a 3rd rounder in 09 for him for compensation.

if for any reason maroney doesn't work out, i could see NE signing turner next year and him being possibly one of the best rbs in the nfl, that's how good i believe he is.

he won't be with us though more than likely, which is a shame.

You're not brutal.....but Wilhelm's Wilhelm. Right?

yep, can't wait for wilhelm to get his shot, man, i can't tell you how i hate donnie edwards run stopping ability, his coverage was A+ but ************, his run support was ass

So I missed the Polk signing. Whoopdeedo. If you had half a brain, you wouldn't have replied because you'd have seen that I had already acknowledged that fact.
