Hard-working on the field, Richardson offers possibilities as a dime back in a zone system.

Biography:
Full-time starter the past two seasons who totaled 55/4/5 as a senior after 66/3/7 during his junior campaign.

Pos:

Nice-sized corner who is best facing the action. Fluid transitioning with opponents, reads the receivers’ eyes and gets his head back around to make a play on the ball. Alert and works well with safeties. Possesses a closing burst of speed.

Neg:

Struggles in man situations with his back to the ball, and will lose assignments altogether. Tends to side-shuffle rather than backpedal.

Fastest 3-cone in the draft.

The past 3 picks have been of very low rated players (30+) on a lot of boards. Makes you wonder what their appeal is.

sounds good to me, a little bit of a push but who am I to say

Not a big fan, and I'm a ND fan. I didn't like our CBs this year. Can't see this dude meaning much.

That they won't get stolen from our practice squad?

Given the current state of our roster, none of the second day picks other than possibly the UM DL have any chance of being part of the 53. They're camp fodder, PS designees and nothing more.

Over Ryan Smith or Kenny Scott or even Anthony Arline? Eh...

Richardson is a tough kid though. He got beat alot at ND, but he never stopped fighting. Great hustle and heart. I question him a fair bit considering how much he got beat at ND, but you have to love the kid. He does have the talent, and the fight. I'd have liked Smith or Scott, but this isn't a bad pick, not at all.

He has no chance.

ND's corners were horrible. In fact, Notre Dame's entire defensive backfield was atrocious.

Well, not all of the...Tom Zib was fantastic

are u kidding? Zib was a huge reason why they sucked lol. Easily the most overrated ND player over last 5 years. He screws up in coverage a lot..he misses a lot of tackles..all he does is hit hard and PR

I love how the later round guys gets brushed off as if the david given's and Tom Brady's and Colston didnt say enough..Anything is possible.

Brady was taken 3 picks before this guy so he has no chance :)

Highly rated coming out of high school, Mike never panned out at Notre Dame. I guess not a lot of corners did. Why do I think that Randall Gay was a better corner coming out of college than Richardson?

Can he make ST tackles? That's what we need.

You smelled him out of the ND defense.

Didn't Weiss fire the ND defensive coordinator and hire the Jets (and former Pat) Corwin Brown to run the defense? No question that defense stunk, as did the passing offense that David Givens was a part of. Doesn't mean the individual players were awful, just part of lousy system, maybe.

True but then they need MAJOR coaching up. P-squad and Europe.

Of one thing we can be sure.
