Negative Boston writers at it already...

See, the thing about Curley Hair, and Ron Borges, and Felger, is that the world is changing and guys like them are becoming obselete. There is so much better analysis everywhere on the internet, and less and less people are reading their twisted opinions anymore.

I say give it 5 years, and CHB and Borges and Felger will have to find other livings because no one will be reading their crap.

CHB will be driving South Boston political hacks all over the waterfront and mumbling epithets at the laughing people who point at him.

(Or he'll just enter Harpo Marx look-alike competitions).

I like to think of myself as more of a Borges guy. I'm glad your here though Shmessy, it seems I'm causing some issues. Are my days numbered because I have an opinion that doesnt sit well in Patriot Nation? Should I just start posting rah-rah stuff?

Why would my thread regarding BB's future be deleted?

Will you guys reinstate me when Im proven correct?

What's your opinion about BB's future?

I think hes setting up to win one more and then leave the Pats. There WAS a whole thread about it, but its gone....along with some others. I made some very valid points and apparently upset a Mod or two with my theory.

I'd like to see the thread back if possible, as it no different that any other Patriots prediction.

Shaughnessy's inflated self-righteousness is only eclipsed by that red, swollen curly melon.

He and the Globe have historically pushed a negative spin towards the Pats, Kraft, Belichick...etc.

Conspiracy says their ownership of the Sox creates some bias but I think it has more to do with that papers overall sense of moral superiority.

Look for a Bob Ryan srticle this week echoing his colleague's stances.

I don't agree with his negative talk about Moss because the past is the past but I could understand his article which is basing things on how in the previous seasons the Patriots were holding back on big time free agents and players with bad reputations and are now changing that kind of thinking.

That stuff is absolutely correct - This team has changed Philosophy, absolutely.

Whether its a bad thing or not is yet to be written in stone.

Lol--a conspiracy, that's the ticket.

Seriously, nobody cares what you'd "like to see" or about how many "very valid points" you made in a particular thread.

Asshat.

What a venemous article.

I thought it was an amusing read. I thought about firing off an email saying "stick to baseball" but didn't want to waste the effort.

I saw an interview with BB on Draft Day 1 talking about Merriweather. Through all the questions Chris Berman asked about character, BB just kept repeating that Merriweather was a football guy, cared about football, football was most important, etc. That has always been what BB thinks is most important in a player. I do think this offseason has been a little crazy, but I don't think the philosophy has changed. The philosophy has always been put a team out there to win. We happen to have the luxury to make the WIN NOW moves and also build for the future (hello, two first round picks next year?). We have this luxury thanks to the smartest FO in football.

But I guess that's just too boring to write an article about.

It's so funny -- I live in SoCal and was in San Diego this weekend, was listening to some of the draft on the local sports radio.

I commented to my girlfriend how it is night and day, the difference between sunny cheery sports radio out here vs. the doom and gloom in Boston.

SD had just made the trade for Weddel, and these guys were GUSHING over the pick. One immediately says "he could be the next John Lynch."

Meanwhile, if NE had given up that many picks for Weddel, all the radio would have been saying they gave up a ton for a guy who isn't big or fast enough, doesn't have a real position, etc.

It really is hysterical how different it is.

I mean, if SD had made the moves NE had made and gotten Moss, their heads would have exploded. :)

Dont worry, I sent it for you. ;)

By far the most ridiculous piece of his article...

"They might be the best team in football, but...". If we are the best team in the NFL, then who the hell cares about anything else. I'd rather win some more SB's than try to cling on to a reputation of being a classy organization. But apparently 1 player out of 50 some players changes what the team stands for.

You people are falling for Ron and Dans trap hook, line and sinker....its about selling papers. Controversy sells.

I know, Im being censored here.

No, actually, it doesn't. They aren't getting SALES of papers by writing this garbage. In fact, they have LOST plenty of revenue because of writers like Borges.

Its not a matter of posting RAH-RAH stuff. Its a matter of actually posting something other than slanderous garbage.

John Dennis pontificated for two hours against the Moss deal. The Big O couldn't get a word in sideways, kind of like he navigates narrow doors.
the John Dennis thing really irritated me..especially since he's part of a morning duo that are far from MAYTHING close to being held up as high standard. The morning AM duo is full of nastiness and dennis is just another hypocrite shoveling more and higher...but what can one expect from someone like him..

Valid points? LIKE HELL you have. You've made slanderous unsupported allegations against BB.

ANd when challenged, you said "JUST YOU WAIT AND SEE" or something to that stupid affect.

Check out this snippet from the article. Tell me the tone of this doesn't sound like him trying to steal the Sox thunder back by writing this article in the first place.:

Maybe Moss will morph into Troy Brown. But the public perception of the Patriots -- something very dear to Kraft -- is forever changed. His football men successfully bounced the Red Sox-Yankees off the landscape for a couple of days (which Kraft is obsessed with) and made his team better, but back in March he was still bragging about a locker room stuffed with "the kind of people . . . who fit the profile of what we want."

Except for Reiss, the Globe is so anti-Patriot it is ridiculous..at one time the Globe wrote about sports period...now, because it is a mouthpiece for one of the teams, it's opinions are slanted and UNWORTHY of anything but the bottom of a birdcage..

It's interesting, and not a coincidence, that Michael Smith and Tom Curran have budding careers on a national theatre, while the Felgers, Borges and the rest of the worthless Boston boobs are still writing for the local rag.

The difference between the former and the latter is what academics call "having a clue".

The former beat writers who "have a clue" are riding the wave which is Patriots' success over the past many years, and turning it into an opportunity. The rest of them have to be satisfied with pontificating and blowing their small minded opinions over AM radio.

I dont see what all the commotion is in regards to the Merriweather gun incident is all about. IIRC he was properly licensed and was defended himself after his friend had been shot in the arse and the police department ruled it self-defense. Am I missing something? Is there more to the story?

You should have mentioned it was The CHB. I wouldn't have bothered to click the link. Don't you know he's employed by the Red Sox hierarchy?
