"As I've said before, there aren't many cornerbacks who can stick him man-to-man," he said. "That is going to help us out, because teams usually have to roll the safety to stop him and that can open things for the other guy. And then you consider we have the best quarterback in the league."

Harrison believes Moss's situation mirrors Corey Dillon's from 2004, when Dillon was acquired by the Patriots after struggling in a losing situation in Cincinnati. He also sees similarities to his own situation from 2003, after he was let go by the Chargers and signed with the Patriots.

"When Corey Dillon came in, everyone thought he was an outlaw. He proved otherwise. When I came in, everyone thought I was an outlaw, ruthless. I think I proved otherwise," Harrison said.

"Let's get a chance to know the guy before we make any judgments. If he comes in and is selfish, there are going to be problems. But if he has the right attitude, it will be huge for us.
"

Moss took a HUGE pay cut to come here. I think he means business.

Maybe if Moss gets out of line, Rodney could pop him in the mouth :D

A guy like Rodney and those sorts of comments are why this team can get guys like Moss, Merriweather, and Stallworth and not worry.

I love Rodney.

Seriously, that guy is godly.

anyone know how his paycut is restructured? did oakland eat any money?

Everyone get your popcorn ready, this is going to be a exciting year!! I can't wait till training camps... I hope Rodney can stay healthy though, he's going to be instrumental for the secondary... I wonder if Asante is seeing all this, and saying, " Maybe I should just sign the one year tender."

I was thinking the same thing. Would he really want off this team this year with all the potential it has?

just thinking about this

most people put the pats, pretty much tied with SD, maybe higher, as the favorite to win the superbowl when stallworth was signed....

this is petty crazy, now we have a deep threat on BOTH sides of the field, with the possession receiver in the slot with welker

I would think not, but players who are greedy are unpredictable... Hopefully he sees all the potential, and sees that this year is going to be something special and will want to stay... Sigh, we will see though.. I really like Asante and hope he wants to stay a Patriot...

Yea, I know... Crazy... I fell in love with Gaffney in the playoffs, he has very reliable hands, and well he was reliable... I think he could do slots with Welker also... If I had to choose between Caldwell and Gaffney, I would choose Gaffney...

I also think the PATS got better in all three fazes, SD didn't answer all the questions they had, plus some players they lost, sooo.... Who knows? Charger fans are glad that they are playing us in the second game because they hope our offense won't be "clicking" at that time... They are worried...

Not to mention the Chargers lost their entire coaching staff.

Anyone have the quote from Rodney when he bashed Moss on EEI?

That seems to be the only thing they are worried about... They feel they are fine with all the players, but their WR corps suck, they lost 2 LBs, not to impressed with secondary, sooo... I think their defense will have problems with our offense, but the only thing I really worry about with our offense, I think this will put pressure on our offensive linemen to stay stout enough during pass rushes, multiple reads, when Brady goes to throw, regardless if it's deep or not... I think Brady and the linemen will see alot more pressure now because of all the threats now in the passing game...

Who do you is the real winner here????Kool-Aid must be loving this.....No more 8 or 9 in the box....Or is Big Ben....No more double teams.....Just sick!!!!

Great comments by Rodney. This team has guys like Brady, Rodney, Vrabel, Seymour, and Bruschi. Not to mention Belichick. I'm not too worried about Moss acting out. If this type of veteran leadership, and Superbowl winning leadership, can't keep him in line, then there's no hope for him.

Rodney is the friggin man.

I think it his presence along with that of Brady, Bruschi, and Brown that will keep Moss in check.

Moss's pay cut speaks volumes about the fact that he just wants to win.

Bingo....I also like the fact that BB talked to the leaders on the team before doing the deal. I can see Moss doing something stupid in training camp/preseason game and then getting killed by Rodney in practice coming over the middle. Bottom line is either Moss will get in line or he will be gone!

Exactly, once i heard that I knew he was serious about wanting to be here and win!
