Winning the SB could kill this team long-term. They think they are going to get by with THAT personnel on D? Not unless they get to play teams with no receivers in the postseason from now on.

Re: The colts just gave up there 2008 first round pick for Ugoh

Colts get Ugoh for a 2007 4th and 2008 1st.

49ers get Staley for a 2007 4th and 2008 1st.

Good one, Colts.

Re: The colts just gave up there 2008 first round pick for Ugoh

Re: The colts just gave up there 2008 first round pick for Ugoh

they only have a 7th left!

Re: The colts just gave up there 2008 first round pick for Ugoh

theres also reports saying 49ers acquired Darrell Jackson for a 4th..49ers are beasting it

There is a big difference in where the Colts generally draft and where the 49ers generally draft (11 vs 32 this year). Not to mention the Colts have three 4th round picks. The Colts have several O-lineman, including Tarik Glenn, becoming free agents next season, they are preparing for that with this move.

Re: The colts just gave up there 2008 first round pick for Ugoh

Beautiful. Colts are going nowhere but down! :]

Re: The colts just gave up there 2008 first round pick for Ugoh

I wont judge this draft or the trades for a few years. I hate saying "oh this guy is gunna be a bust" or "that trade was stupid!". Makes no sense.

If I had to make a personal opinion on the Colts draft, I would say Daymeion Hughes should end up being the best pick. #2 rated CB before the combine where he performed poorly.

Re: The colts just gave up there 2008 first round pick for Ugoh

I hope the Colts get minimal defensive help in this draft. But they might be scoring 50 a game this fall too....!

What are you talking about? You gave up your 2008 first round pick for a guard. You didn't get SF'sfirst round pick. We own that!

You get a guard and you give up a first to get him?

What happened to all that talk about we dont needharper, doss, david, june, etc etc? We'll reload in the draft

Pats1 was comparing the value of the player for the picks involved. I was stating that the 49ers gave up a lot more than the Colts did even though noth gave up a #1 and #4. Where did you read that I said the Colts got the 49ers pick? Ugoh played tackle is college BTW.

well, congratulations. I'mglad you think you made out on that deal.

I am truly honestly happy that you gave up your 2008 #1 for him, as I was overjoyed at the firstpick you guys made, also.

It is nice when fans of opposing teams can agree and be happy about something.

If you use your third round picks on a TE and a RB I will be right there cheering and clapping with you.

BTW, why are you here? Why aren't you celebrating with other COlts fans on your wonderful reloading in the draft?

I'm here posting in a thread about my favorite team. I guess I could ask the same of you.

So you agree Ugah was worth a fourth and a 2008 first round pick on the premise the colts will DEF pick last in the first round. How will you feel if Gonzo is made invisable when covered well ( like he was at times last year) and the d still blows?

Hey, his comments are more welcome from my POV than some of the doofuses who are on our own side... "Oh my God! Now we only have one first and no second! They blew it!!!!"

Anyway as someone else has already noted... SF is just going NUTS w/advantageous trading. You can never grade a draft for a couple of years and come up with anything other than an opinion... but from all indications, DAYUM!

The Colts had 3 fourth round picks, so the loss of one to move up is fine with me. I'm not saying the Colts will definitely be picking last, but they do have a habit of picking around the end of the round. The Colts also have a habit of drafting a year or two ahead. So if Ugah allows they to save money under the cap on one of their FA linemen next year to pay the like of Bob Sanders, then I am all for it.

Fourth cousin,

it's Ugoh, like the car:confused:

Anyway, the TALENT is there. Sounds like his downside may be motivation. With Tarik dialing down soon, and Colts having all those picks this season, it appears to be a wise move. Hopefully, we pick late round next season. Plus, will be loaded with 4 comp picks (Doss, Harper, June, and Rhodes). Gonzalez MIGHT have been a stretch, but Indy is a great fit for him. He's Stokely, he's Welker, he's a starter. If he is COVERED, then Harrison, Wayne, or Clark will be available. Manning will find the open man. Hughes was a steal late in the third, and Pit**** will add depth to the D-line. Tomorrow, we will add a LB or two, and perhaps another corner or safety. May not be first year starters, but ST's play and depth will be solidified. Four picks to NE's one. THAT makes up for an uneventful FA period.

Re: The colts just gave up there 2008 first round pick for Ugoh

Sounds like a lot to give up, but overall I think the Colts have been having a good draft.
