Velly interesting, my biggest surprise is seeing Jordan Palmer listed.

You don't think Willis is a fit for the Patriots?

DH,
as times passes your original Ben Grubbs choice looks more appealing to me. If Harris, Staley et. al. are gone, I will not be surprised at all if your first analysis is proved correct.

Count me on the Grubbswagon.

Uncle Heat likes them big.

He will be gone between 8-12, I hope not 12.

Why does that Whitney Houston song "I will always love you" keep going through my head whenever Willis name is brought up? :(

It was the only thing sappier than Michael Bolton your subconscious mind could come up with in lieu of self-flagellation.

Why did you plac such a high value on Gattis???

I'm really hoping we take him at #91.

PS: The satellite radio football guy said that Werriweather has bought a Patriots hat to put on when the Pats take him in the first round.

Wow, I have to wonder if that means he's been clued in by the Pats or is just buying the mock draft hype?

I generally agree but would have Staley listed higher.
I also think that any tight ends will be considered higher by the Pats.
Lastly where is Sepulveda?
I think he is on the Patriots radar as early as round 4.

Day two update:

From a Patriots perspective. There has been no attempt to rank players within each group:

PV 56-70

Josh Gattis FS Wake Forest
Paul Soliai NT Utah

Either of these guys would be a great pick in the fourth. I don't see the pick of Meriweather precluding a selection of Gattis

PV 71-90

David Irons CB Auburn
Aundrae Allison WR East Carolina
Tanard Jackson FS Syracuse

I'm mildly surprised Irons is available. I guess that single-digit Wonderlic is hurting him. To me, Jackson is the same guy as Meriweather, minus the pedigree, so he'd probably have to fall a bit more to be a value we couldn't pass up. Allison could be a sneaky pick in the fourth.

PV 91-115

Eric Frampton SS Washington State
Michael Coe CB Alabama St.
Antonio Johnson DE Mississippi State
Darius Walker RB Notre Dame
DeShaun Wynn RB Florida
Zak DeOssie LB Brown

Other than Frampton, I could see any other guy here drafted by New England today. I especially think Johnson could help.

PV 116-140

Ben Patrick TE Delaware
Clark Harris TE Rutgers
Allen Barbre OT Missouri Southern State
DeAndre Jackson CB Iowa State
Rhema McKnight WR Notre Dame
Brandon Myles WR West Virginia
John Wendling FS Wyoming
CJ Wilson DB Baylor

If Patrick is on the board too long, Belichick will take him. Barbre looks like an ideal candidate for the practice squad. The other guys are going to have to be excellent ST candidates.

PV 141-170

Jeff Rowe QB Nevada
Desmond Bishop ILB California
Quintin Echols NT Kansas State
Steve Breaston WR Michigan
David Ball WR New Hampshire

Obviously, I think these guys are all fine longshot candidates. Nothing's changed there. Rowe could come off early Day two.

PV 171-195

Herb Taylor OT TCU
Bo Smith CB Weber State
Brandon Harrison SS Stanford
Kolby Smith RB Louisville
Reggie Merriweather RB Clemson
Marquies Gunn LB Auburn

See above. Hammer Harrison might be superfluous at this point.

PV 196-220

Gabe Hall OT Texas Tech
Mike Otto OT Purdue
Quinton Culberson ILB Mississippi State
Corey Graham CB New Hampshire
Jared Zabransky QB Boise State
Brandon Sharp FS Louisville
Mark Fenton C Colorado
Dan Mozes C West Virginia
Jessie Daniels SS LSU
Kevin Boss TE Western Oregon
Daren Stone SS Maine
Brannon Condren SS Troy
Matt Gutierrez QB Idaho State
Kevin Payne FS Louisiana-Monroe
C.J. Gaddis FS Clemson
Brandon Mitchell FS Ohio State

Boss could be the next TE off the board, and Mangurian did work him out. Fenton could be a good guy to take and stash on IR for a year as he recovers from a broken leg. I really like Condren, but I'm running out of places to stash strong safeties. If we haven't gotten a #3 QB yet, Gutierez could be the guy.

PV 221+

Chad Nkang SS Elon
Jordan Palmer QB Texas-El Paso
Joey Card FS Miami (OH)
Marvin Mitchell ILB Tennessee
Ded Harrington MLB Missouri
Zach Diles ILB Kansas St.
Eldra Buckley RB Chattanooga
Marquice Cole CB NorthWestern
Walter Thomas DT Northwest Mississippi
Marcus Hamilton CB Virginia
Tony Franklin CB Virginia
Raquan Pride CB Rhode Island
Darrell Burston OLB Florida State
Kelly Talavou DT Utah
Legedu Naanee WR Boise State
Roderick Rogers FS Wisconsin
Eric Wicks SS West Virginia
Xavier Lawson-Kennedy DT Oklahoma State
Tanner Jenkins C Arkansas State
David Ligon C Tennessee
Dan McGrath C Virginia Tech
Michael Allan TE Whitworth
Keith Jackson DE Arkansas
Larry Brown DE Oklahoma State
Kyle Caldwell OLB Arizona State
Robin Gamble OLB Miles
Jonathan Allen TE Norfolk State
Marquay McDaniel WR Hampton

Blah blah blah. The only guy taken off this list so far has been the baffling selection of Gerald Alexander in the third. Gamble, Allen, Pride, and Buckley represent some intriguing low risk/high reward potential.[/quote]
