Have been reading tons of predictions on the Patriots first 2 round one picks but little if any mention of Siler being a possibility.

I have him as a #24 shocker but no one seems to remember he is a decent player who should be able to fit in well as a Patriot and at a position we need to fill.

Is he not round 1 material? - I think he is,He seems to be flying under the radar all offseason,Thats why I think he may surprise a few and land up in New England.

Despite the injury he had last year I think he has the potential to be the BEST linebacker in this draft...Yes Possibly even better than Willis will show as a rookie during the 2007 campaign, right now that appears as a longshot to happen but its possible to me.

Siler could be picked by the Pats...in round 3.

hes not even mid 2nd material. he didnt test real well and scouts ar saying hes very very stiff

he'll fall to late 2-early-mid 3

nevermind stiff.
Scouts say that he considers himself a great player and it rubs off in a bad way when you speak to him.
Which is fine... but he is overestimating his ability and is quite full of himself.
Which is NOT something you want in a football player.

Siler tested terribly. There are some conflicting reports, but it appears he ran a 7.70 3-cone drill at his pro-day which is not NFL competitive. He had a 30" vertical jump, which is lousy. Being neither quick nor explosive makes for a bad Day 1 combination. I thought Siler played better than that, and maybe the knee injury vs. SC affected him. But now there is some risk associated with him, and there are other players who have less risk who are ahead of him. It doesn't mean Siler won't become a good player. It just means his chances of becoming a good NFL player are not worth gambling on.

I'm with you. I think the Pats will trade out of #28 and grab a mid second among other picks and take Siler around 40-45. Not to sound like a broken record, but I heard from a reliable (to me) source down at UF that the Pats have been digging into his background pretty extensively.

You DO however want the following:

He’s limited a bit physically but Siler is a smart player who goes all out on every play. He won’t dazzle you with his 40-time but put a football helmet on him and Siler just goes out and makes plays. He’s a great leader and all business on the field, two things the Patriots hold in high regard.

No Siler is not a 1st round talent. His attitude and athleticism are both questionable. Mid 2nd to 3rd rounder is probably where he goes.

There's no chance the Pats take him at 24. Now you know why you're not a pro scout. :D

We now know why he's not a pro scout, why aren't you one?

We're in Round 5, four picks away from the Pats.

Siler is still on the board.

Crazy !! Some draft guides rated him as the 2nd best ILB in the draft. He would be a GREAT value pick at this time. He did have a knee injury in 2006, so maybe that's why he tested poorly.

In "The Sporting News" rated him horribly. Misses opens tackles, terrible in space. I was pretty high on him as a 3rd or 4th round pick but if the Pat's see the same thing that this crummy magazine reads then I don't want him. If a player is a liability in the open field, the potential for disaster is high. The difference between stopping a 7 yard run and letting it ride for a 70 yard TD is a concern here.

What do you say about Siler now? Nuff said. Next.

He's an attack linebacker. He reads and attacks. And since he is slow and stiff, he cannot recover to make a play when he over plays the ball..

HE IS NOT PATRIOT MATERIAL.

All reports show that he cannot read coverages either.

I'd love for him to be on the JETS, so we can play against him 2x a year (though he would not even start for the JETS).

He will NOT be the best linebacker of the 2007 class. Based on his everything I've read, he would not even be a good special teams player.

Round 7 and Siler still available.

I think it's safe to say the your career as a GM is over.

No love for Brandon Siler in round seven?

(Boy, he better suck at the pro level, because if he scouts grading him at a second round level were right then alot of GMs were wrong the last two days. This reminds me of Clinton Portis)
