Imagine my surprise to see everybody's favorite raw 375-lb. nose tackle on the front page of the Times this morning! I think this officially makes Thomas the most publicized "sleeper" this side of Jeremy Bloom.

Upshot: flunked out of a DI program after one season, cut his community college career short with an arrest, has played precious little football, but has one of the most amazing football physiques anybody's ever set eyes on. Turns backflips for fun. The ultimate boom or bust prospect.

Very intriguing to say the least.
I would use one of our 4(?) 4th round picks on him without a doubt.

Only of course if my homework on him suggested that he was ready to become a player and stop living off his potential.

Technique and conditioning are going to be 2 huge things with him.
Also smarts... he failed out of college, and has been arrested.

Given his upside I completely think it's worth the shot. I think he can turn it around since the article suggests that he understands this is his last chance. Bringing him into a place that nurtures people in a healthy football environment is exactly what this young giant of a man needs.

Big Vince can take him to the all you can eat buffets in MA and help mature him.

It's 4 6th round picks and he doesn't seem worth it. Reminds me of Sullivan last year. Has the physical tools, but no focus. How is he going to make the team?

he will make the team knowning this is his last chance.
He will make the make being pushed by veterans how know how to win.
He will make the team knowing it's put up or shut up time.

But not everyone has the charachter to step up to the plate, face the music, whatever cliche you want to use.

If the Pats think he can - which I doubt they do - then I love the pick.

A sixth round pick might not make the team at any position, and NE has two sixth round comps, so they might as well pick somebody. He's got all the potential in the world, so I'd give him a shot.

The other guy is Bob Sapp and he weighs in at 335lbs. and 6'5''.

The only reason he's at 335 is because hes a mixed martial arts fighter for Japan.
