I'm scared DE Adam Carriker may fall to the Pats...

it doesnt if u dont have glaring needs. We have some pretty big needs.

our LBs are all 30 + or about to be

our safeties will be depleted after this year..Harrison + Wilson = injury prone..Wilson is an FA and i dont see him resigning unless he plays full yr and plays well and Harrison is close to retirment. Hawkins is not the answer..hes servicable

at CB..Samuel is whining..Scott is aging..Andrews is Special Teaming..Gay is usually hurting

HELP

Am not referring to need or value, but if he is available(which I believe he will not be) too good a talent to pass up. If he were drafted he would be locked up for at least 5 years, along with Seymour,Warren, Wilfork and a very AD this would prove to be an interesting rotation. Is it better to draft someone who might be good, as opposed to someone everyone agrees will be good.. I choose the latter.

:singing: The Pats have...One little, Two little, Three little draft picks, Four little, Five little, Six little draft picks, Seven little, Eight little, Nine little, draft picks, Ten little draft picks now (and Asante to trade). :singing:

Just in case anyone thinks one or more of those can't be used to grab an (apparently) superfluious big body for the D-line...not to mention having a Carriker may also mean trade offers for Jarvis and/or Wright, maybe even a conditional seventh for Hill or S. Thomas. And I'd still love to see Carriker taking OLB reps alongside Ty.

So which is scarier, Carriker forehead or Caldwell eyes? ;)

Line them up on special teams together covering a punt/kick.
Carriker could since Wright does it... Carriker ran a 4.79 so this is NOT inconceivable.

Anyway, How scarred would you be as a return if wild eyes and freak were coming down towards you?

I agree that there's not a glaring need for another DL, except a NT sub for VW. But, unless Hill has more promise than we've seen, the chance to beef up the rotation with Carricker is too good of a value to pass on. Good big men are rare and the fall off is steep. DBs are abundant and the quality is still there in the later rounds. They also last longer and can be picked up in FA or off the street for depth. What would we do if Ty or Sey or VW went on IR???
Wright and green can fill in somewhat but there's no subs to give them a blow. Quality DL depth is a top priority, IMO.

I understand but don't you realize that Bruschi and Vrabel aren't the players they used to be? They couldn't cover the Colts tight ends in the AFCCG. So yes, I think we need some inside linebackers. Get ready, because they just might take David Harris in the first round.

David Harris will still be around in round 2. Carriker won't. That tells you about the difference in talent.

If Carriker lasts till 24 the Pats will gobble him up and I'm pretty sure Harris would still be available at 28 if they want to go in that direction.

Yeah, let's blame Vrabel and Bruschi as opposed to being forced to play Alexander and Tully and being down to our 18th string safety. I didn't even know we had signed Rashard Baker until they started calling his name.

This team is built on the d-line, has four legit starters at LB and ton of draft picks for depth. why would we not want one of the legit 1st rounders to fall to us? so we throw a pick at an inferior talent because it'll make our message board depth charts look prettier?

Carriker also gives this team the freedom to play a 4-3,4-4 (5-3>with Adalius spying as a safety.} I know there is a chance that he doesn't pan out but the possibilities with his speed and size are endless. But like most have mentioned he won't be there anyway so keep dreaming. But if he was I think it would be a mistake to pass on him.
