Intersting Mock, though I don't care for Spencer and I don't think you do enough for the Pats at safety.

I have a question about Barnes. What was his involvement during the FIU/UM brawl.

I think it would be kinda funny if we had two Gays on our roster.

I like these picks for the most part. Gaddis is a guy I like a lot on day 2.

Replace Barnes with DeOssie and I would be very happy with that draft.

Barnes was not suspended, 16 other Golden Lions were. IMO Barnes is as talented as Timmons. It will take him 2 seasons to fully adjust but by year 3 the Pats will have an impact ILB with a world of athletic talent, who can rush the passer as well. You can't argue with taste... if you don't like Spencer so be it. I think he is a very safe, quality selection likely to start at OLB by year 3 and impact as a pass rusher quickly. CJ Gaddis has experience at all 3 secondary positions and is an excellent special teams player. He is probably best suited for SS. His athleticism and football character are top notch. The immediate impact as a starter may not be there, but we're in this for the long haul. It may take Gaddis a couple years, but he will be a very good player.

Barnes' athletic talent is comparable and he played against better competition. His game is more physical. I consider Deossie a greater risk, despite his pedigree.

I didn't ask if he was suspended. I asked what his involvement was in the brawl. There were players on both sides who were involved and didn't get suspended.

One of the things I always take into consideration when evaluating players is whether or not they've played on special teams. If not, then I have a hard time seeing them fitting into the Pats roster. If they have, then I see them having an impacter sooner rather than later.

What sort of special teams players are the guys you've got the Pats drafting?

Barnes' involvement in the brawl was not significant enough to warrant a suspension. Gaddis is an elite special teams player with a resume of blocked kicks. Barnes has the size speed ratio and footspeed to be an elite gunner, with 3 blocked kicks to his credit.

As I said, there were plenty of players who were involved who didn't get suspended. If you don't know, its ok to say so.

As for Gaddis and Barnes, I appreciate the info.

I know that Thomas has been a gunner before, but if Barnes could do it, that would be a bonus.

DB,
I enjoy reading your posts but sometimes you can be a pain in the arse.:) Search the brawl for yourself. Look for #42. Can't find him as one of the instigators? Neither can I. Can't see him stomping on anyone or doing anything morally offensive. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Nv5UINZGHJ4&mode=related&search= He gets in a discussion with Kyle Wright at some point, but nothing physical. He was there enough to be a good teammate but not enough to be a character risk. Profootballweekly cleared him and they're on top of character risks better than everyone (see Santonio Holmes last draft season, the dope smokers this season). I admit my ignorance freely, when appropriate. An admission isn't called for here.
