PATS TARGETING HARRIS?

A league source who is preparing for the draft as aggressively as anyone tells us that the Patriots will select inside linebacker David Harris with the No. 28 pick in the draft.

"Write it down," said the source.

Okay. We have.

riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. A team like the Patriots that plays things as close to the vest as they do is going to reveal their intent outside their own FO so that a 'league source' will know their intent. I smell a disinformation campaign to get the player they really want........

id be a very happy man

That would be tremendous.

I'd jump for joy, but now that the entire league knows the Pats are interested in this guy, he'll go at 15. uggh!!

Thanks for the new and intriguing news, but isn't this draft forum material? I posted it in the draft forum already 20 minutes ago.

According to Ian, draft material is fair game on the main board within a week before the draft. ;)

It was leaked the week before the draft that we were very interested in Ty Warren before the 2003 draft. So it isn't outside the realm of possibility of this report being true.

As well it should be, and I'm no draftnik.
Bring it ON people!

Well if we did....this is the only picture I found of him on google. Kind of cool. :D

Yeah - I don't think he'll be there... though looking at the mocks it doesn't seem like there's the traditional run on LBs that there normally is. Lots of WRs coming off the board, DEs etc...

I think a quality LB will be there for the taking - even in the 2nd if the Pats trade down.

Unfortunately I think if they want their type of Safety they will need to move up - THAT's where the run on position players is taking place this year (and no one's convinced me yet that Merriweather can behave either)

That doesn't read to me as them saying they have a source who knows it will happen, just a source who thinks it will. In other words, the difference between them having a source with the Patriots saying it vs. a source who expects the Patriots will. Sounds like a team who always puts Harris in at #28 on their mocks because if they were the Patriots it's the right guy.

I'll need another piece of paper.

This one's filled up with all the teams they had Randy Moss traded to.

I'd be happy if the Pats took Harris, but not in the first round.
Incase you didnt notice we dont have a 2nd round pick and our third round pick is almost a fourth round pick.
