Would this make you happy or angry?

I'd wonder why SP/BB are listen to the pats fan with a man crush on Willis

If they do it, and I don't think that they will, it won't be because they are listening to fans with a "man crush" on Willis.

If you wonder that, then everyone should wonder why you are wondering that.

I would be disappointed, but not angry. I just don't see the value in making that kind of move...

The last time I was angry during a Patriots draft was when they took Richard Seymour over players I liked better at the time...David Terrell, Koren Robinson, Kenyatta Walker, and Dan Morgan. Things turned out quite well. Clearly, they know what they're doing...

I'd be very surprised at, and not very happy with, such a move. I'm not fan of the term "can't miss". When I first started following Football as a teenager, Tony Mandarich was a "can't miss" guy. I learned a valuable lesson at that stage.
I see players as "less likely to bust than other guys, er, probably. I think". So, I'd rather have two "possibly going to bust" guys than one "less likely...". You get the picture.

That will take a lot of pondering on my part. I'm rubbing my chin as I start the process.

Wouldn't two players busting be worse than just one? I think I see what your talking about, staying put at #24 and #28, taking the best available players. I feel the Pats should keep both picks and draft two guys that can contribute on defense from day 1. The faster a team can inject youth, the better.

One of the things I think people fail to consider when it comes to draft time (and even moreso this year - with the additon of Adalius) is how quickly the player can pick up the system (be it offense or defense) and who he'd be replacing.

We can debate all we want whether Willis is a better fit than Beason...or Posluszny is better than Willis. The point is, none of them will "instantly" move into the starting lineup (barring injury). It's not like our LBs are in such dire need that they'll be put in to "shore it up".

Will they see significant playing time? Of course. By the middle? end? of the season, whomever we draft could be starting. But all that will be determined by the afore mentioned ability to pick up the system.

As we've all seen, BBs defensive schemes aren't for the dim-witted. And as a rule, I think we can all agree that BB and SP draft "smart" football players. Where do any of the guys we're talking about fit into that category? I'd much rather have a guy who understands his position and might be 2/10s of a second slower in the 40 than someone who runs a 4.4 and is constantly out of position.

Like was said earlier, we'll find out in a week.
