I'm going to load up on the injury risks, going high-risk, high-return since 10 rookies aren't making the day-1 roster. And I'm drafting a lot in pairs, like Wilson/Samuel, Branch/Givens, Thomas/Mills.

not saying that they are right but others have him rated much lower than 1st rounder. Some have him as a third rounder and I would agree with that.

not saying that they are right but others have him rated much lower than 1st rounder. Some have him as a third rounder and I would agree with that.

No, those draft magazines are all over the place. I know he was rated behind only Willis after the season. His film isn't going to change, he plays hurt, hits a ton and is faster than anyone we have playing inside now. If Meyer has talked this kid up to BB and I've heard he has, and BB wants him, it has to be in RD #1 because I don't think he'll be there at the end of 3. I would much prefer to trade out of #28 and grab him with a late 2nd or early third. BB proved he will take a player before he should (Mankins) if he thinks there is a chance he'll be gone when the next pick comes along.

Brandon Siler, Florida (6-2, 241)

Strengths: Siler is one of those in-the-box linebackers that would be a good fit in the Patriots system. He has good straight-line speed in a short area. He’s not as fast as Willis or Harris but Siler is very quick to the hole. The former Gator is a punishing tackler who almost always drives the ball carrier backwards. He’s a very good blitzer and lights up quarterbacks when he hits them. Siler has great instincts and awareness on the field. He’s one of those players who is always around the football. A physical linebacker, Siler makes a lot of tackles in the backfield. He plays with a mean streak and does a good job of discarding blockers to get to the ball. A classic run stuffing inside linebacker.

Weaknesses: While Siler is quick and fast in the 10-20 yard range, he lacks blazing speed. He does a decent job in coverage but still needs work in that area. Siler really doesn’t have a lot of upside. He’s one of those players where it’s what you see is what you get. In contrast, a player like Harris could become a lot better in the NFL because of his physical ability. Siler may be relegated to a two-down run-stopper at the pro level. However, 3-4 teams like the Patriots don’t necessarily consider that to be a bad thing.

Overall: Siler is a good, productive player but he’s a shade below Willis and Harris, making him a solid second round selection. He’s limited a bit physically but Siler is a smart player who goes all out on every play. He won’t dazzle you with his 40-time but put a football helmet on him and Siler just goes out and makes plays. He’s a great leader and all business on the field, two things the Patriots hold in high regard. If New England trades down into the second round, Siler could be a possible target.

Two other Florida juniors who declared early for the draft — LB Brandon Siler and CB Ryan Smith — likely will not be drafted on the first day.

Said one team, "I would not draft Siler. He is stiff, stiff, stiff. It's almost embarrassing how good he thinks he is and how far off from reality he is. I felt bad for him that he left school. He does not have any idea."

Although Siler worked out well at the Combine and has size, production and a vocal on-field presence, he has a bad body, plays too straight-legged and straight-linish, and his inflated opinion of himself has turned off NFL coaches. Many scouts graded him as a late-round talent, as they also did with his teammate Smith.

A little robotic in turning and dropping in coverage. Needs to get low and stay there instead of coming bolt upright too often. Thinks he's really good.

...Siler has the valid instincts you look for in a classic 4-3 inside defender...looks sluggish with his feet when having to drop back in the zone as he doesn't always get good depth in his drops...

Both Curran and NFLDraftScout have him as a second round grade, but that may be for a 4-3 team. They say good things about him too, but if he's got his head in the clouds it might not be wise to overdraft him and feed an ego that needs some deflating. He sounds like an okay kid, but I'm not too sure BB is shopping at Florida this draft, the Florida kids from the last draft still have some work to do.

I notice many of you have Danny /sepulveda as a Punter on your boards. so Did I. But he will not last beyond late Round 4 and may go sooner.

Punters are ordinarily not drafted high, but Ray Guy went in Round 1 and Todd Sauerbrun went in Round 2. Sepulveda is in their class and caliber.

Absolutely love your draft. I think you can wait on that QB to FA though and pick up the kid Thomas, of Mississippi CC. The 6' 4'' 370 LB NT who has run a 4.9 40. He was dominant in the "TEXAS VS THE WORLD" game this year with IA competition.

Would love to figure a way to get Dareen Stone from ME. A Harrison clone.
