I think he knew it was time but his agent pushed for one more go.

Thanks for everything Corey.

Good luck in the future with everything.

All time Rushing leader in a season.

I am glad he's retiring a Pat.

Before the end of the season we will resign him...

Technically he is retiring a FA since the Patriots cut him before he could retire.

Well, glad that I won't have my memory of him tainted by an injury filled 2007 with someone like Buffalo where he gets the crap knocked out of him on a weekly basis.

I'm even more glad he won't have his body tainted by that.

Here's to a well-earned retirement. May it be a long, happy, healthy one.

Corey will be back for one more go...............

didnt his agent say he wants more carries? he said he can still be a starter somewhere in league yet no1 signs him

Thanks for everything, Corey. You really disproved my initial fears about you.

You had the heart of a lion and ran NASTY. More importantly, you conducted yourself like a New England Patriot. I'm more than happy to admit I was wrong.

Best wishes for a well deserved retirement and well deserved Championship memories.

You helped out in a HUGE way to get that third championship
mazel tov Corey on the great career
prob wont get you to the hall, but will def get strong consideration
still will go down as one of the better running backs in your era

Good news, only for selfish reasons, lol. I have his jersey and don't want to remember him wearing any other before he retired.

Or winning a Super Bowl with an archrival team like say, a former kicker whose name is unutterable.

Corey thank for all your efforts.....Enjoy your retirement....:rocker:

What everybody else said.

He was an outstanding Patriot.

He said he was ready to hang 'em up.

He seems to have let his agent talk him into another try.

And if injuries get bad he might rejoin us later in the season.

At least we got a glimpse of greatness.

Imagine if he'd played on a decent team for his whole career?

Definitely my all time favorite Pats RB.

(Imagine if he'd run behind Hannah:eek:  )!

Thanks for the memories and good luck in retirement....

Just for the record, let's see if he files papers for retirement or if it's a ploy to sign with a team after training camp... (sorry, that's the cynic in me)

Loved watching him run over and stiffarm guys. I hope he makes the HOF
